Every morning is a new opportunity to do something great with the day that begins. If you are a morning person, then it will not be difficult for you to make the most of the benefits it offers you.

If, on the other hand, you sigh when you hear the alarm and cancel it about five times, and waking up in the morning is not to your liking, here's how you can learn to make your day start more productive.

1. Allow light to enter the house

Natural light plays a very important role in your morning routine, maybe even more important than you think. It signals to the body that it's time to wake up. And this can make you much more alert than a cup of coffee.

If you have time to run or go for a walk before you officially start your day, do it, if not, lift the blinds, open the windows and enjoy the light and fresh air.

2. Eat a healthy breakfast

A healthy breakfast, full of protein and vitamins, not only satisfies your stomach but also fills you with energy to cope with the day.

Breakfast is a very important meal - it can either make or break your day. Plus, don't forget to stay hydrated. A balanced breakfast can also contain coffee or black or green tea, along with a glass of water.

3. Move your body

Lying down in the morning can help you release tension from your muscles and make you feel more flexible and alert.

Exercise offers many benefits. Physical activity can increase the rate of blood circulation in the brain and body, giving you energy and improving your cardiovascular health. Morning sports can also enhance important brain functions such as decision-making, memory, and attention.

4. Perform some of the tasks for the day

A few tasks that you already do in the morning help you start your day with a sense of productivity. And that will motivate you to take on other important responsibilities. In addition, you will be satisfied later.

Things to try and do:

  • Make your bed
  • Wash the dishes
  • Put a round of clothes in the washing machine

5. Meditate or write in a journal

Meditation helps with everything in the day, but especially in the morning, it can help you to clear your mind, gather your thoughts, to start the new day with positive thoughts.

Many people find meditation helpful in reducing stress and anxiety. Meditation can increase your compassion and kindness for yourself, so it can make a big difference in your life, especially if you notice that the worries and frustrations you feel in the morning often affect the rest of your day.

If meditation does not suit you, you can try to put your thoughts in a diary. It can help you sort out your thoughts, assert yourself, or set a daily goal.

6. Make a list of things to do

There is so much to do in one day, so chances are we will forget about some of the tasks.

Writing them down in the early hours of the morning can help you keep track of the things you need to do, whether at work or home.

In addition, see which responsibilities need priority and which can be postponed until the next day.

7. Do something you enjoy

Spending time on things you enjoy can turn your mornings into a great way.

It is worth dedicating a small part of your morning to doing something out of a pure desire for fun.

For example, you can:

  • play a video game
  • you are watching your favorite Youtube channel
  • read a few pages from a book
  • listen to your favorite playlist
  • you are working on a personal project

8. Connect with your loved ones

Keeping in touch with friends and family is important. If it's hard for you to make time for your loved ones at the end of the day, why not try talking to them in the morning?

It could have a positive effect on you. Starting your day with a cup of coffee, a call, or a walk with a loved one enhances the feeling of connection and improves your mood.
