39 Lessons and All the Things I Am Grateful For.
Happy Birthday To Me and Jude.
Video Disclaimer: I wanted to name everyone I’m thankful for. I probably didn’t get it perfectly right, but God knows the full list better than I do. This is my small attempt to say thank you.

I did not expect to live this long. Yet here I am, sitting in front of my little tablet, looking out the window of a flat I never expected to call home, wearing clothes that I like, in one of the most remarkable countries in the world.
I am grateful to have been born in the United Kingdom. I am grateful to live here.
I am deeply grateful for my super mum and super dad, who intentionally conceived us and raised us with love, with God, and with every provision a child could ever dream or hope for. I hope they know how much I love them.
I am grateful for my elder and twin brothers, Mcanthony and Jude, and their wives, and their lovely children, for my aunty Eliza and my cousins, and for our wider family. I hope they know how much I love them too.
I am grateful for the spiritual leadership and inspiration I have received throughout my life. I am especially grateful for the ministry of Prophets Uebert and Bebe Angel, whose teaching brought me into one of the highest seasons of healing and empowerment I have ever known.
Another beautiful woman of God, Mrs. Regina Abah, who hosts a quiet fellowship called Mount Zion Fellowship in Makurdi, Nigeria, has taught me faithfulness and good stewardship wherever God places us to serve. I appreciate her deeply for being a true friend to my mum.
I am grateful for other ministries that have guided and shaped my desire for a deeper understanding of God and His purpose for my life. Among them are Nathaniel Bassey’s music, Apostle Joshua Selman, Pastor Jerry Eze, Apostle Arome Osayi, Apostle Johnson Suleman, Pastors Arome and Nguavese Torkula, Reverend Robert Clancy, Randy Kay ministries, Dr Kevin and Kathy Zadai, Sid Roth, Apostle Tomi Arayomi, Apostle Tobi Arayomi, and Tiphani Montgomery. There are others, but these are at the forefront of my personal experience.
I am most grateful for Jesus and His Holy Spirit. I am grateful to God for giving us His Son, and I am grateful that they are one.
I am grateful for the wonderful friends I have made over the years. My most loyal friend ever is Best Obute. I hope she knows how much I love her.
I am grateful for the teachers who shaped my learning, especially Mr. Zachariah, Mrs. Chunu, Professor Enahoro, Mr. Obateru, and Mr. Danaan. School days were a double-edged sword, but I remember them fondly.
As a young girl, I remember my parents’ friends, Mrs Adoga and the late Ambassador Aduma who cheered my writing, and would read my poetry and stories and give feedback with very constructive correction. I am so grateful for them.
I am grateful for good health. I thank God for deliverance from cancer. I am grateful for the NHS, and for the doctors, nurses, and social care workers who helped me reach this place of health and stability.
Not everyone agrees when I say that the UK government works, but I am grateful that it does, because otherwise I would not be sitting here writing these words.
There is more to be grateful for than I can count.
I began by saying I am surprised to be alive. So I will not pretend to be surprised that I am single with no children. I am grateful for that too. One day it will be lovely to marry and have children, and I remain hopeful for that blessing.
After thirty-nine years, it would be foolish to say I have learned nothing. So I have decided to write a list of the lessons I have gathered through the years I have walked this side of eternity.
1. What we see is not always what we get.
2. We are what we eat.
3. We are what we read.
4. We are what we watch.
5. We are what we listen to.
6. We are shaped by those we spend time with.
7. Honour your father and mother so that it will be well with you.
8. Family is everything.
9. Pride comes before a fall.
10. Those who truly love us will love us regardless of appearance or possession.
11. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.
12. It is never too late to begin again.
13. We are not here to fix people, only to love them.

14. Any friend who will not defend you is not truly your friend.
15. Busyness is not the same as progress.
16. It is all right not to accept “no” for an answer, but be gentle in your persistence.
17. Silence cannot be misquoted.
18. Peace is hard currency and must be treasured.
19. A smile makes anyone beautiful.
20. The truth is easier to remember than a lie, though harder to tell.
21. Time is a healer.
22. Time is also an illusion.
23. Darkness and light are two sides of one coin.
24. The truest language is felt more than spoken.
25. People will always remember how you made them feel.
26. The lender is master to the borrower.
27. It is harder to receive than to give.
28. There are no adults in this world, only grown children.
29. No human being is good, but God surely is.
30. Jealousy is the first step toward murder.
31. Slander is a kind of murder.
32. Gossip is a kind of murder.
33. False testimony is also murder.
34. Every person carries influence for good or harm.
35. We are all going to die.
36. Life is meant to be lived.
37. Saving money is wise, but money is also meant to be spent.
38. We live in many universes, though most of us see only one.
39. God is the greatest gift of all.
As I close these reflections, I want to share something small from my heart. It is a little song of gratitude I recorded on Bandcamp. It carries the same spirit as these words, a quiet thank you to God for the gift of being alive. If you listen, may it remind you of all the reasons you are grateful too.
And here is another song I recently wrote,
