Why I Don't Trust People Who Don't Watch Horror
A great genre

Not Facing Discomfort
When the themes of horror are too much and there is a need for wonderful rainbows all the time, experience in or understanding trauma becomes an issue. The possibility of avoiding the internal trauma sitting in the background of someone's brain can be another problem. Fully healed individuals are able to consume horror without needing a hit from a rom com constantly to wade off the darker waters. Those who avoid discomfort are trying to trap themselves within a bubble that is better off popped. It is a bubble that should only be for young children.
Inner Evil or Delusional Behavior
Watching horror with people who have intentional malice or mental health issues has always scared those viewers in a way that isn't inward. It becomes worse and brings their negative energy attachments or mental health delusions haunting them to the surface. Watching people jump at and attack others while watching horror is where I can feel the bad projections stirring within them. Inner malice can easily be uprooted and found in these ways, which is why I always ask people to watch horror with me! It is as if the people avoiding watching without the self-awareness are trying not to look into the mirror of their own (metaphorical) demons coming with them.
Lack of understanding of complex situations
The people who can't deal with the philosophical and psychological themes are those who don't want to think too much or too far about what is going on outside their comfort zones. They can't understand lack of positive endings or systemic issue metaphors within the work. They have to say horror is a fake world when there is actually much to relate to within the little horrors right next to us. People not able to see this are either stuck in a fake world that doesn't exist or they are intentionally ignoring this aspect to be able to keep their eyes shut tight to what may be right in front of them.
Making Judgements about the type of people who Consume Horror
Many people consume horror for the effects, editing, and themes. There is a range of light to heavy horror; Some of this is with or without gore. People who consume this media are usually regular people who enjoy a good jump scare or distortion video. The assumption that only people who would have a particular agenda watching horror would have to mean more horrible incidents happening after large amounts of horror lovers watching daily. A slasher film does not bring anyone to follow suit unless they are already mentally ill. This is just the same as many people playing shooter games but leaving the guns at home in every day life.
There is Always Room for Breaks
Self-awareness leads those who know they are struggling to express needing a break from watching the genre. Here then leads to a completely understandable reason to take the space before being able to consume the media once again. When best at the moment because of reasons for a bad week or a fresh negative situation, the time needed is extremely valid. I don't believe it is valid to always avoid horror media forever, especially in light forms.
Humor in Horror
The Scary Movie movies show how we can find humor within horror and connect the two genres. Being able to find scary movies that make this connection is a great start for a step into the genre. Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey on Tubi is another sugesstion. Silly ole bear gone bloody can be more silly than scary. This helps with a fun lead-in for the new watchers.
