The Other Side

There was only one rule: don’t open the door.

She stared at the foreboding, rusted metal slab towering in front of her. Curiosity continued to gnaw. Unanswered questions lingering as she tried to suppress them. Her Aunt told her never to go near it, but she never said why. It was not to a room.

Her Aunt wasn't home... she wouldn't know if it was opened... just for a quick peek. What could happen? It is just a big, freaky old metal door up against the cement wall of the attic. Nothing is behind it but wall. Her hand slowly inched towards the old, dusty metal lock. Slowly she began to twist the knob to unlock the bolt.

She took a deep breath as anxiety began to fill her body. Her hands shaking as she lowered them. Her hands gripped against the ornate, ice cold metal as her wrists began to turn it... slowly. There was a slight squeak as the doorknob turned clockwise.

She pulled slowly as she brought her head over to the opening. Peering through the small opening as she pulled the heavy metal opened further. Her eyes widened as her mouth gaped over what she saw. She pulled her head back from the opening as an eerie and dark whisper came from behind her...

I'm so glad you came to see me again.

She turned around startled at the voice from behind her. She began to scream hysterically as she saw nothing but the rusted, darkened metal door behind her. Her fists banging against it as she tried to open it but there was no knob on the inside. She was trapped behind the door. The last thing she heard was the voice again right next to her...
