Curiosity can be deadly

There was only one rule: don't open the door. That was like waving a bright, flashing sign in front of me saying "Open me." The temptation was unbearable as I continued to explore my great-grandmother's home. This was the first time I'd ever been to visit the family home in my life. It wasn't until my mother passed away that I went there to share the news with the family she had left. I didn't realize it was only one sister that remained.

I sat in the guest bedroom while hearing the sound of my Aunt talking to herself since no one else was in the house. I kept thinking of the door. I couldn't resist the door calling to me as I waited for my Aunt to go to bed. I heard her bedroom door shut and lock, which seemed odd. I quietly walked towards the door, my gut knotted as I reached for the knob. Slowly turning it. Pushing the door open, it creaked slightly as I walked inside. I reached for the light switch and flipped it as the room illuminated. It was empty except for a Ouija board on the floor.

I sat down and placed my fingers on the planchette. "YOU" it spelled out immediately as it moved under my fingertips. It began to move again... "YOU" once more. Fear rushed over my body as I took my fingers off the planchette and looked around the room. There was a cold wind but no windows. I turned back towards the Ouija board and my blood ran cold as I saw a ghostly vision of myself staring back at me from the other end of the Ouija board. “YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE OPENED THE DOOR!!” I screamed at myself as the door slammed shut and locked.
