The Headless Demon of Kalindi
True Horror Story from Bangladesh
The story I'm about to share with you was sent to us by someone named Mahim. His home is in Kalindi Union, Keraniganj Upazila, Dhaka District. The incident happened to his uncle, and it is believed to have occurred around 1992. So, it's necessary to describe their area. Their village has two roads on the east and west sides, with their village in between. A road runs through the middle of the village, and further ahead, it merges with the two roads on the east and west. Mahim's maternal grandmother's house is located halfway along that road. Basically, their maternal and paternal grandparents' houses are in the same village. Anyway, the grandmother's house was surrounded by trees and plants, and there was a pond in the middle. On the way to the grandmother's house is his aunt's house, and his aunt's father-in-law was a folk doctor. People called him Nimai.
Anyway, this uncle, Bulu Mama, worked in a well-known market in Dhaka. He used to come to Dhaka from his home every day and return home after office hours. He didn't live in Dhaka. And there was a lot of traffic on the road, so he would get home very late. He used to commute like this every day. So, let me tell you about one such night. His uncle was coming home, and the road was unpaved. It was around 1:00 or 1:30 AM. It was a new moon night, pitch dark all around, but he had a light with him.
So, he was coming, and to get home, Bulu had to pass by Mahim's aunt's house. He had a habit of smoking. When he walked down that road at night, he would light a cigarette and smoke it all the way home. He didn't have any opportunity to smoke at home in front of his parents. That's why he used to smoke the entire way. According to his daily habit, he was going that way. He was passing by Mahim's aunt's house when...Suddenly, his eyes fell on the jungle beside the road. He shone his torch in that direction and saw that his sister's father-in-law, meaning this Mahim bhai's aunt's father-in-law, the folk healer Nimai, had no clothes on his body. His eyes were burning like fire. Then this Bulu Mama thought, "I suddenly shone the light, then lowered it again." He wondered how it looked to have seen him in this state. And since he was a folk healer and also practiced black magic, he had to perform rituals at various times. Perhaps he was sitting for one such task. His arrival caused a problem, so he was a little embarrassed.
But suddenly, in a grave voice, that Nimai the folk healer said, "Bulu, you survived because you had fire in your hand, but because of you, Nimai is dead." He didn't quite understand the beginning or end of these words, but he quickly left from there. The next morning, news came that Nimai the folk healer had died. He didn't tell anyone about what happened that night. Meanwhile, Nimai the folk healer's burial was completed, everything was settled, and almost three months passed. In these three months, Bulu Mama didn't tell anyone about this matter, and he had almost forgotten about it. He also wanted to forget about it.
Three months later, the real events began. For these three months, he continued as before, finishing his job and going to his home in Kalindi Union from Dhaka every night. He would come home at night, finish eating, and go to sleep. He fell asleep too. In the middle of the night, around 3:00 AM, Mama was in a deep sleep. Suddenly, Mama heard someone calling him from the bank of their pond, "Bulu, hey Bulu, get up, get up, come here, come see how many fish there are!" Hearing this, Mama thought, "Who is calling me?" Then he remembered that he had a friend who sometimes called him to go fishing at night. He thought it must be him calling. He also used to go fishing with him sometimes. So he got up, didn't call anyone else in the house, opened the door and went out. Walking, he went towards his pond. He couldn't see anyone. He wondered who was playing a joke on him at this time of night. He came back into the house, lay down, and fell asleep.
So, the next day, as usual, he fell asleep again at night. In the dead of night, suddenly someone was calling his name, just like the previous night, "Bulu, hey Bulu, get up, get out here quickly, come see how many fish there are!" This time, he decided, "I'm going to go out and see who's calling. Someone called yesterday too, but I didn't see anyone. Who's calling again today? The voice sounds the same." So he went out again to the pond, but this time he took a flashlight. The previous night, he had rushed out sleepily, didn't take a flashlight, and didn't see anyone, so he came back. But this night, he went out with a flashlight. He went in the direction from which he thought the voice was coming. When he got near the pond, in the moonlight, he thought he saw a figure standing there, about six or seven feet tall. He shone the flashlight on it. As soon as he shone the flashlight, his body felt like it was frozen solid. He lost all ability to move. He saw a figure standing there, pitch black, with no head. Blood was flowing from where the head should be. There were two eyes in the middle of its chest, and a mouth with large teeth where its stomach should be. But the figure was human-like. He realized that this was the headless ghost, or the "Nilkantha" as some call it, what we call "Skandha Kata." Some call it "Kalla Kata Deo" (headless demon). He had fallen into this thing's clutches. And that thing, he shone the flashlight on it, he was looking at it, and that thing was gesturing with its hand, calling, "Bulu, hey Bulu, come here, come here, come eat fish, come eat fish," calling like that. After seeing this, he started reciting whatever verses he knew. After that, he doesn't remember anything. He passed out. The next day, he found himself in his room. The people of the house were all around him. Basically, someone from his house had gotten up to go to the washroom at night and saw his room door open. When they went into his room, they saw he wasn't there. Although he was married at the time, his wife wasn't home. Thinking about the open door, when they went into his room, they saw he wasn't there. They were worried.
So, he might have gone to the washroom, but when they went near the washroom, they found no one inside. Then they became suspicious. Where did he go at this late hour? When they went looking for him, they discovered him near the pond. However, when he was found there, no one saw any figure around. So, basically, he was rescued from there. The next day, everyone asked him what had happened, but he didn't say anything to anyone. Actually, he couldn't speak because he didn't have the strength to talk. He had a terrible fever. So, this Mahim bhai's grandfather then took that Bulu to the mosque's Imam. The Imam performed a ritualistic blowing and spitting (Jharphuk) on him, and he got better. For about a week, everything was completely normal. So, after the Imam performed the Jharphuk, by the grace of Allah, he got better. For a week, there were no problems of any kind. They didn't hear any calling out at night, nor did Bulu Mama. But after a week, a terrible incident began. Before, only he would call out, and Ulu Mama would hear. But now, what happened was that in the dead of night, after two o'clock, someone was throwing pebbles on the roof of the house. At first, they thought that maybe some naughty kids around the house were throwing pebbles. But after a pebble is thrown, that pebble will roll down, right? If a pebble is thrown on a tin roof, after hitting the tin roof, the pebble rolls down, making a "gurgur gurgur" sound. You can hear that. And after falling on the ground, there's a "thump" sound. But the pebbles that were falling, there was no other sound on it, like it was rolling or anything. And these pebbles could never be found. It felt like someone was throwing pebbles from a distance. So, at first, they came out of the house.
But after going out, he doesn't see anything. But even after going out, something throws a stone. But it's not clear what kind of stone it is. So, this starts at night. And Uncle is sleeping. Suddenly, he feels like someone is pulling his hair. A sharp tug. A man's hair is short, so someone grabs the hair on the front of his head and pulls it forward with such force that it strains his neck. He feels intense pain. So, he wonders who is pulling so hard. Uncle gets up but doesn't see anyone. Sometimes, Uncle feels like someone is walking around in his room at night, but he can't see them. Aunt, however, doesn't understand anything.
And he doesn't notice any of these things. Only Uncle notices. But one night, Aunt notices that Bulu Uncle is lying down. Before going to sleep, she saw her husband lying next to her. Then, in her sleep, for some reason, her hand falls on Bulu Aunt's body. Suddenly, Aunt feels emptiness there. She wonders what's going on, he's not there. She opens her eyes and looks around. Since some terrifying things had been happening, she was sleeping lightly. So, she wonders where her husband went. When she opens her eyes slightly inside the room,
there was a dim light. She sees a terrifying sight. She sees that he is floating in the air, about four or five hands above the bed. In this state, she screams very loudly. Her scream wakes up the other members of the house. But as soon as she screams, Bulu Uncle falls onto the bed with a thud. He fell so hard that it almost broke the bed. It's possible for a heavy body to fall from five hands high with a thud. Meanwhile, the people of the house come to see what happened. But Aunt is unconscious at that time. The next day, when Aunt regains
consciousness, when she is asked why such incidents are happening, whether any terrifying event had occurred, she tells everyone about the matter that she had been keeping secret for so long. After hearing this, Bulu Mama's father, meaning Mahim Bhai, was very angry. He scolded him, saying, "Why didn't you tell me about this before? The situation you've faced is not good; it's very dangerous. Quickly, call a *Kabiraj*."
When the *Kabiraj* arrived at the house, he refused to enter, saying he could only sit in the courtyard. After sitting in the courtyard, he meditated for a while and, through his pet *Jinn*, he learned that the night Bulu Mama had come was a new moon night.
Basically, this Nimai *Kabiraj* knew that a terrifying headless spirit lived near the pond. This headless spirit passed by this road every new moon night. Nimai the Tantric, or Nimai *Kabiraj*, wanted to capture him at that time to increase his power.
Essentially, when Bulu Mama was passing by that road, everything was disrupted. And the headless spirit understood that Nimai *Kabiraj* was trying to capture him because he could feel the power being exerted on him.
Also, the meditation was disrupted because he was coming with a cigarette. There was a discrepancy in the binding of the mantra there, as a result of which the headless spirit immediately killed Nimai the Tantric. And because Bulu Baba had a cigarette in his hand, he was not attacked. But that apparition, in the guise of Nimai the Tantric, threatened Bulu Mama and spoke to him.
And the next day, it was learned that this Nimai *Kabiraj* had died. And that night, when Bulu Mama obstructed his path, he started following him. He didn't say anything for three months, but after that, he started following him and is determined to kill him. He has tried to kill him at various times, but he hasn't been able to because Nimai *Kabiraj* had a pet *Jinn*.That jinn, which Nimai Kabiraj had imprisoned, wasn't really imprisoned. That jinn actually respected and loved Nimai Kabiraj a lot. And Nimai Kabiraj died at the hands of this entity. And this entity, without any fault of her own, is trying to kill Buluma. So, whenever that headless demon or the "Kalla Kata" demon tries to attack Buluma, that jinn somehow comes and saves Buluma. Otherwise, her survival would have been very difficult. It's all by the grace of Allah. Allah had kept her alive, through someone or other, Allah Almighty saved her. Anyway, then that Kabiraj performed a lot of exorcisms. He sealed the house from all sides and performed several Ruqyahs. By the infinite grace of Allah, Bunu Mama is healthy and well. So, this was the incident, dear listeners. Actually, this headless demon, or "Nilkantha," or "Kalla Kata," it has different names in different areas.
But once you fall into their clutches, it's very difficult to escape. Manu Baba was lucky; by the grace of Allah, he escaped so easily. And once you fall into their clutches, in 90% of cases, people die. And they are so terrifying that they cannot tolerate the presence of people in the area where they live. In the case of other jinns, it is seen that they also live, and people also live. But these types of jinns, they cannot tolerate the presence of people around them. They try to wipe out the entire lineage. Although they live in quiet places, they get very angry if people settle around them. Anyway, this was the incident.
