In the year 2123, deep within the asteroid belt, the Helios Station drifted silently—a relic from an age long past. Once a thriving mining hub, it was abandoned decades ago after a catastrophic accident that claimed all hands on board. Official records claimed it was a methane explosion, but rumors whispered of something far worse.

The Galactic Salvage Corporation sent a crew to investigate and recover any salvageable technology. Among them was Captain Aria Voss, a seasoned pilot with a reputation for bravery, and Dr. Elias Kwon, a xenobiologist curious about the mysterious biosignatures detected near Helios.

Upon arrival, the team boarded the station, greeted only by flickering emergency lights and eerie silence. The air was breathable but stale, and life support systems barely functional. As they explored, the crew discovered signs of a hurried evacuation—or worse, a struggle. Bloodstains marred the walls, and security footage was corrupted, showing only static punctuated by shadowy shapes darting across the corridors.

Strange events soon began. Communications with their ship became intermittent, replaced by faint whispers in unknown languages. Crew members reported seeing figures—ghostly apparitions—that vanished when approached. The station’s AI, Helix, began behaving erratically, locking doors and playing haunting lullabies.

Dr. Kwon found a hidden laboratory deep in the station’s core, where genetic experiments had been conducted—combining human DNA with unknown alien organisms recovered from asteroid mining. The creatures had escaped, their remains scattered throughout the station.

One by one, the crew fell victim to a creeping madness. Captain Voss found herself trapped in endless loops of the same corridor, hearing her own voice echoing from unseen speakers. Dr. Kwon’s research turned into frenzied scribbles about a “sentient parasite” that could infect and mimic hosts.

In a desperate final act, Voss transmitted a warning to the salvage corporation:

“Do not send anyone else here. The station is alive. It hunts minds. It wears faces.”

The transmission cut off abruptly.

Helios Station remains lost in the void, a graveyard of secrets—and something that waits, still awake.
