The dark night in haunted farm house

It was a dark and stormy night, the kind that makes you want to curl up in bed with a good book and forget about the world outside. But not for David and Sarah, they were on a road trip and found themselves lost on a country road. The rain was coming down so hard, they could barely see the road in front of them. As they drove, they saw a sign that read "Farmhouse for Rent", and decided to take shelter there for the night.

As they pulled up to the farmhouse, they could see that it was old and decrepit, with peeling paint and broken windows. It had clearly been abandoned for years. Nevertheless, they were relieved to have found shelter from the storm and decided to explore the house.

As they entered, they noticed a musty smell that seemed to hang in the air like a thick fog. The interior was dark and dusty, with cobwebs covering every surface. The floorboards creaked beneath their feet as they made their way through the rooms. The only source of light came from the occasional flicker of lightning outside.

They found a candle and lit it, hoping it would provide some much-needed illumination. The dim light revealed the remnants of the farmhouse's previous inhabitants - old furniture, rusted tools, and strange objects scattered around the rooms. David and Sarah tried to ignore the eerie feeling that crept over them and settled in for the night.

As they tried to sleep, strange noises filled the air - creaking floorboards, rustling curtains, and whispers that seemed to come from nowhere. Every time they tried to get up and investigate, they found nothing out of the ordinary. They began to wonder if they were alone in the house after all.

As the night wore on, the noises became more intense, and they could hear footsteps coming from upstairs. They cautiously made their way to the stairs and peered up into the darkness. Suddenly, a figure appeared at the top of the stairs, shrouded in shadow. It was impossible to make out any features, but they could sense its malevolent presence.

David and Sarah ran back to their room, locked the door, and tried to find something to defend themselves with. They found an old axe, but it was so rusty they doubted it would be of any use. They huddled in a corner, waiting for the figure to break down the door.

But instead, they heard a different sound - a low growling that seemed to come from beneath the floorboards. Suddenly, the floor gave way, and they plummeted into a dark, dank basement. They landed hard on the ground, disoriented and in pain. As they looked around, they realized they were not alone.

All around them, in the flickering light of their candle, they could see the bodies of animals - cows, pigs, and chickens - all dead and decaying. The smell was overpowering, and they could barely breathe. They were trapped in this nightmare with no way out.

As they tried to find a way back up to the main floor, they heard the sound of something crawling towards them. They turned to see a grotesque creature, its skin mottled and rotting, with sharp claws and teeth. It lunged at them, and they barely managed to dodge out of the way.

They scrambled to their feet and ran towards the only exit they could see, a small window high up on the wall. David hoisted Sarah up, and she managed to squeeze through. But as David was climbing out, the creature caught up to him and sank its teeth into his leg. He screamed in pain, but managed to break free and scramble out of the window.
