The Commuter’s Secret
Never trust a stranger on the night train.

Story:
The city was abuzz with tales of the "Midnight Slasher," a supposed serial killer targeting late-night train passengers. Most dismissed it as urban legend, a tale to deter night travel. I, however, was skeptical.
On a particularly late evening, I boarded the last train home. The carriage was nearly empty, save for a few scattered passengers. Two men sat across from me, engrossed in a hushed conversation, occasionally glancing my way. Trying to ignore them, I focused on the book in my hands. Moments later, one of the men approached me, offering a friendly smile.
"Mind if I sit here?" he asked.
Before I could respond, he sat beside me, his demeanor shifting. He leaned in, whispering, "You shouldn't be traveling alone at night."
Alarmed, I tried to stand, but his grip tightened on my arm. The other man approached, pulling out a small vial. Just then, a fellow passenger intervened, tackling the men and shouting for help. The train screeched to a halt, and security personnel rushed in, apprehending the attackers. Wikipedia Shaken, I thanked my savior. He introduced himself as Daniel, a frequent traveler who had noticed the men's suspicious behavior. He offered to accompany me home, ensuring my safety. Grateful, I accepted. As we walked, I reached into my bag, fingers brushing against the cold metal of a hidden blade. The thrill coursed through me. Those amateurs had almost ruined my plan. But now, with Daniel by my side, the night promised a new opportunity. He never saw it coming.
