The Cabin in the Woods
: A Terrifying Tale of Survival and Trauma

It was a dark and stormy night, the kind of night that sends shivers down your spine. Sarah had just arrived at her secluded cabin in the woods, looking forward to a weekend of relaxation and solitude. As she settled in, she heard a loud knock at the door. She hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should answer it, but curiosity got the better of her and she opened the door.
Standing there was a man she didn't recognize, soaked through from the rain. He asked if he could come inside to dry off, and Sarah, feeling sympathetic, allowed him in. He introduced himself as Michael and said he was just passing through the area. Sarah offered him a hot drink and they chatted for a while before she went to bed.
In the middle of the night, Sarah was awoken by a loud noise coming from the kitchen. She got out of bed and cautiously made her way to the source of the sound, but found nothing out of the ordinary. As she turned to leave, she saw Michael standing in the hallway, his eyes fixed on her. She asked him what he was doing, but he just smiled and said he couldn't sleep.
The next day, Sarah couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about Michael. She decided to go for a walk in the woods to clear her head. As she walked deeper into the forest, she heard the sound of footsteps behind her. She turned around, but saw no one. The footsteps grew louder and more frantic, and Sarah started to run. She didn't stop until she reached her cabin, and when she looked back, she saw Michael standing at the edge of the woods, watching her.
That night, Sarah locked all the doors and windows, but she couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her. She heard footsteps outside, but when she looked, there was no one there. She tried to call for help, but there was no cell service in the area.
As the night wore on, the noises grew louder and more violent. Sarah tried to leave, but the doors wouldn't budge. She heard a scream and realized it was coming from the basement. She cautiously made her way down the stairs, heart pounding in her chest. The sight that greeted her made her scream in terror.
Michael was standing over a body, covered in blood. He looked up at her, a twisted smile on his face. Sarah tried to run, but Michael grabbed her by the arm and dragged her back down the stairs. He held her captive for days, torturing her both physically and mentally. She thought she would never escape.
But one day, Sarah managed to break free. She fled into the woods, heart pounding in her chest. She ran for miles, until she finally came across a small town. She went to the police station and told them everything that had happened.
The police searched the cabin and found Michael's body, along with evidence of his other crimes. Sarah was hailed as a hero for surviving her ordeal, but she couldn't shake the trauma of what had happened to her.
Years later, Sarah still had nightmares about that fateful weekend. She couldn't shake the feeling that Michael was still out there, somewhere, waiting to strike again. She knew she would never truly be safe again.
