The Woman in the Tattered Dress SYNOPSIS : The story is about a young woman named Sarah who is home alone during a stormy night. She hears a creaking noise coming from upstairs and decides to investigate, only to encounter a mysterious figure shrouded in darkness. This figure turns out to be a ghostly woman in a tattered dress who haunts the house and terrifies Sarah. Sarah later discovers that the house was built on the site of an old burial ground and that the spirits of the dead still haunt the property. She tries to leave the house but finds that she is trapped and unable to escape the haunting presence of the woman in the tattered dress. Years pass and Sarah grows old and frail, never able to escape the haunting spirit. The story ends with the legend of the haunted house on the burial ground being born and people coming from all over to witness the site where Sarah lived out the rest of her days, trapped and haunted by the spirits of the dead.
