Th Winter War
Grant’s eyes instinctively shot open and he immediately cursed the light. As had become his new normal, he just laid there until he had the will to pull himself up and begin his day. It had been nine months now since he had decided to leave his apartment with Santa or Nicholas as he preferred to be called. It had been eleven since Elsie, all in all it had been the longest year of his life. After about twenty minutes, Grant finally took a deep breath and swung his legs over the side of the bed. He stood up and walked to the bathroom, his foot connected with an empty bottle. Grant looked around the room and saw several empty bottles. This had quickly become his new normal, Grant would drink until he blacked out, then he’d wake up the next day hating himself, just to repeat the process.

Houses Haunted By Spirits
The Farnsworth House It’s always more exciting reading about an actual haunting. The Farnsworth House is now an inn located in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Today it is a family-run inn that dates back to 1810. Over the years stories have been added to this house as owners have changed hands. During the Civil War, Farnsworth House was owned by the Sweeny family and was a favorite for Confederate soldiers because of how sturdy the structure was. They also discovered that up in the attic was a garret window from which one could shoot attacking Union soldiers on Cemetery Hill which is just 100 yards away. The Sweeny’s moved to a safer location and the soldiers took over their home. Once the battle was over and the Sweeny’s returned left behind were over 100 bullet marks in the wall of the brick addition to the house. These marks can still be seen by visitors today.

I Don’t Believe in Ghosts, But. Top Story - November 2021.
I grew up in the ’80s and ’90s and was much more interested in comedies or movies of youth like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or Breakfast Club. And although I enjoyed sci-fi movies like Back to the Future or Ghostbusters, it was more for the acting, special effects, and the fact they poked fun at the entire paranormal or supernatural sci-fi genre.

Pine Tree Camp Part Two: Dying for Revenge
Soft violin music floated into the office of Dryer’s and Family’s Funeral Home. The bell clanged loudly downstairs breaking me out of my exhausted trance. Sleep decided to evade my mind, punishing me living with my dead room mate for two freaking months. Weirdly enough, the apartment burned down the night after she was found, forcing Todd, and I to live at my parent’s funeral home. It was the only one in town, so business was great. Nervously, my slender fingers tugged at the bottom of my black sweater dress. A gray blazer was the only thing keeping me warm. My hair was twisted into a side bun. The bell rang again, nearly making me jump out of my skin. My boots clicked against the black and white diamond floors to the back door where the bodies entered their final day at the spa.

The Rabbit Hunts for her Fox at Night
A soft summer breeze blew my purple sundress as the solar eclipse began, darkening the world around me. My copper eyes blinked once, my normal world of a hot sticky summer day dissolved to a forest of dead twisted trees. Strange fog drifted up trying to reach the fingers of the branches. A murder of crows gathered in front of me, beady black eyes staring back at mine. Dew clung desperately to the dead brown grass beneath my worn black flats. Winter-like breezes nipped at my pale skin.
