It wasn’t a little girl I was camping with my husband and his family at a small, remote lake in New Mexico. There were about 10 people in our group and another group of six people in the next campsite. It was nighttime and both groups were doing typical activities: making s’mores, having a few drinks and telling stories, when we all heard what sounded like a little girl yelling out for help. Blue Moonlight Part Six: A Gift to Reap
My quaking fingers opened the door to the meeting, only for me to end up in the woods. Howls erupted around me, a pack of odd looking black wolves surrounded me. Cold sweat dripped down my forehead, my eyes seeking an escape route. My boots pounded against the jagged forest floor, a bunch of wolves chasing after me. Psychotic laughter exploded around me, the wolves scampering into the woods. Well, that can’t be good, the only thought being interrupted by a six foot tall man with long black hair landing in front of me. His red eyes glittered excitedly, a skeletal handle holding a blade twice as long as him. His black crop duster coat blew about in the wind. Stitches lined his face, a clever grin brightening his face. Raising my trusting scythe, my red eyes scanned him for any weakness.
