I Am A Bat. I Am A Writer.
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. A peculiarly voyeuristic writer like me couldn't resist the temptation. So without hesitating, I pulled a quick side-flip and changed the course of my otherwise uninteresting flight trip to my otherwise mundane hunting grounds. The candle was sparkly bright and that gave me the chills. I daringly flapped my thin wings and whooshed in, through the open window. I screeched in a moment of excitement which ended up being a big mistake. It caught the attention of an unnatural blob of figure hanging from the ceiling inside the cabin house. It was bigger than me, darker than me, bloodier than me and had sharper claws than mine. It took me a few moments to adjust my eyesight but I was too late. The creature on the ceiling stretched out its scrawny limbs and pricked my tiny and delicate wing. It was clearly not interested in killing me. It was more of a get-off-my-face reflex. I fell on the floor, landing on my head with a thud. I panicked. I flapped harder. I freaked out like a dying moth. I squealed in fear. It would take a day or two for my wings to heal. I could die. However, eventually I calmed down and decided to take a clear look at this beast of a creature. It was not a bird. It was a man instead. He was hanging upside down from the ceiling. He had long hair, thin but strong arms, pale skin, bloody lips, sharp senses and a really, really stinking body odour.

Dry Season
Dry Season The Cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Local Park rangers occasionally checked on the Cabin periodically as it was said bums, vagrants, and junkies used the Cabin; but a lit candle, now that was reckless.

The Black Cabin Cullings
“The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. That night, seven teens left their church group to get a good look at the Black Cabin that they had heard so much about; despite all the warnings.

Hunting Season
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. To the man hobbling on his homemade crutch toward the light it offered hope, a beacon leading him toward shelter from the quickly descending darkness around him. Little did he know that the candle in the cabin was lit with that sole intention; to guide lost souls to the light…and only on this very special night.

Dream Of A Demon
This "story" is actually true as this was a dream I had not long ago. If you're reading this, feel free to leave a comment as to what you think, how you perceived it and even how it made you feel. I'm curious in what other's think of this dream I had dreamt. To me, it felt as though it was reality.

Abandonati
"The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window." I couldn't help myself, I had to go over and look within. There was one old man, sitting in a rotting armchair, his long beard blending into longer hair curling down his back. It was white, except for the dark orange and brown part around his mouth, dyed by spittle from the tobacco he chewed and spat into a spitoon by his chair. The rustic wood around the spitoon dyed a darker brown by globules missing the rim.

HELL HALL
Chapter One Darkness choked him. It choked him every night. There was nowhere left for him to run. Solitude, loneliness, and fear loomed in the air as thick as morning fog. Where could he go to hide? He jumped into bed, clutched the covers up around his neck, wedged the blanket under his feet, and prayed for comfort from the watchers, ghosts, unseen visitors, monsters, and those unwanted and uninvited specters that always come from the other world into the room where he slept. They invaded his will, his mind, and his soul. Eyes filled with piercing vapors and encircling flames stood by his bed one again. Fearing the faintest touch from them, he flinched as if electricity leaped from the wall socket of its own will onto the bed. Unspoken words from childhood prayers stood at the gate but refused to be spoken. Needing a release to fight off the creatures from some niche forgotten by the world, Scott, a man now eighteen years old, took his normal last available escape from the torment covering him. Seeking to retain his sanity, grasping sleep, a form of release, or so he thought, he rode the familiar reserved seat on a fast-moving beam of light that thrust small spiral-shaped shards into uncharted regions where, if one wasn’t vigilant, arms of the aggressor would seize the living light unwilling to relinquish the flame of one’s soul.

Mystery Invite
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. I thought, “I could get in trouble if I go exploring this cabin.” The night sky lit with lightning. “The sound of a car driving behind me reminded me that I still had some exploring of this new town. I am new and I get the feeling everyone already knows. This one house is neglected, and everyone acts as if it is okay to leave it like this? There is no for rent sign or sign of anyone ever there.” Noland turned to head back to his apartment. It was close to the cabin in the woods.
