True horror story
Late in January of 2018 we bought a motorhome and with a little dry weather forecast we decided to give it a try. We booked a few days in a campsite in Gloucesteshire and on Wednesday February 21st off we went. We got to the site down a narrow B road turning off onto an even narrower one up a gentle sloping hillside of farmland which was bordered on one side by a forest of tall pine trees. We set up and by then it was early evening. About 11 pm I decided to walk the dogs. My wife told me I'd need a flashlight so I put one in my parka pocket and walked down the camp roadway towards the site perimeter fence. I intended to walk through the gate and into a small empty car park area on the other side.I didn't bother with the torch because the sky was clear and there was enough moonlight to see.There were no other people around and the couple of other caravans that were there were closed up for the night.The fence was on my right as I was walking down but a section of it, to my far right also contained a tall thicket hedge and on the other side of the fence and hedge was a track leading from the forest. As I got opposite to where the hedge ended a dark figure emerged from it on the forest track and walking in the same direction as me towards the camp gate. It startled me for a moment and I thought that when we met where our paths merged at the gate I'd make a joke of it with him.He was walking slightly in front of me, about 10 yards away and gradually I realised that really what I was looking at was a very black silhouette, a kind of 'stick' figure like a child would draw to represent a man. There was no depth to the shape it was very flat and 2D and moving oddly like a figure in one of those old silent films. It was taking no notice of me and the dogs didn't react to it and then as I gradually got closer and in plain sight it vanished. At this point I was a little spooked to be honest and I needed to know where it was so reached into my pocket for the torch. I hadn't stopped walking so by now I was nearly at the gate to the carpark when it suddenly reappeared about 3 yards in front of me standing on the other side of the gate. The dogs noticed it now and stood stock still just staring at it. It was about my height and it's arms were waving, moving in a kind of stop/go motion and I also had the impression I was looking at it's back although it was still only a flat shadow. It made no sound. I stared at this for about 20 seconds fumbling with the torch switch and when I finally did get it working I shone it at the figure and....nothing. It was was gone. I directed the torch beam back and fro into every corner of that car park but it was empty.Like to point out too that I hadn't been drinking or smoking anything and that we hadn't been talking about any subject that might have put this in my mind. It was unsettling rather than frightening although I must admit I didn't continue with the walk but turned around and walked back up the hill the way I'd came.Thing is this wasn't a fleeting glimpse of something, I was interacting with it for a good 5 minutes so I don't find it easy to explain away. Before now I've told a few family members about this and I know they all are sceptical and I don't blame them. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I'd be sceptical too.

HAUNTED TOMBSTONE…THE LARIAN MOTEL!Tombstone, and locations in Tombstone make it onto many “most haunted” lists.Today we’re going to talk about the Larian Motel, 410 E Fremont St, Tombstone, AZ 85638, situated directly adjacent to another famous and purportedly haunted building, Schieffelin Hall, at the corner of 4th Street and Fremont.The building was originally constructed on Tuesday, April 22, 1952, Larry McCabe broke ground on what the Tombstone Epitaph called, “...another down-town motel project.” Originally there were four units built on the west side of the property followed by four on the east side. Another four units were added to the first as well as a home for Larry and his wife, Lillian. The name, LARIAN, is a contraction of the McCabe’s names using the first three letters of Larry and the last three letters of Lillian. The location of the Larian Motel has been a huge plus for this business, being a perfect place for tourists to stay, because it is so close to historic downtown Tombstone. The Larian Motel is found along HWY 80 (Fremont Street) that runs through the Tombstone historic district and is located near other “haunted” locations like the OK Corral, Schieffelin Hall, Big Nose Kate’s Saloon, the Crystal Palace saloon, Wyatt Earp’s Oriental Saloon, Undertaker Espresso, the Red Buffalo Trading Company and the Bird Cage Theatre, not to mention the paranormal activity often experienced on historic Allen Street itself!Though there are other locations in the area with ghostly guests, the Larian Motel does NOT disappoint, as it has its fair share of paranormal activity, and makes “most haunted” lists!There are reports of paranormal happenings throughout the motel, but most experiences are reported in the older original part of the building, rooms 1 through to 4. Larian Motel owner and proprietor, Gordon Anderson has said that he has heard faint sounds of old-fashioned music in the vicinity of the motel. He has searched for the source to no avail and yet they continue.As an example, in room 3, a set of twin sisters reported the feeling of a presence in their room, having both awakened at 12:30 am. They didn’t mention their separate experiences to each other until the following morning at breakfast, when they discovered they both had had the exact same experience. Creepy!Whispers and voices have been often heard by folks staying at the Larian as well. The motel site was once the location of a gun shop, a general store, and a Chinese restaurant.Another typical report in this room is of poltergeist like activity, i.e., missing objects and possessions, only to be returned to their original spots at a later time.One example of this is when a gentleman couldn’t find the glasses he had just placed on the nightstand. Being that his eyesight, without the glasses was lacking, he was sure that was the reason that he couldn’t find them. The guest asked for the help of staff to search the room, the Larian’s brand of “Western Hospitality”, but they found nothing. Returning after having dinner and a stroll around the historic Allen Street shops, the gentleman found that his glasses were exactly returned to where he had left them, right on the nightstand! On occasion something that wasn’t in the room or in the Larian Hotel mysteriously will appear as well.In the Doc Holliday room, there is a purported presence, that while rarely seen, is often felt. Guests relate that they can feel someone or something in the room watching themPoltergeist activity and disembodied voices and music are not all the happens at the Larian. The sighting of a large, white-haired man has been seen on many occasions in Room 4 (the Wyatt Earp Room). He’s been seen wearing a white shirt and apparently looking for something or someone.So if staying in a haunted location is your thing (specifically rooms 1-4), the Larian Motel might be just the ticket for you! If not, maybe stay in one of the newer rooms! First of my apologies this story is a bit long, but I wanted to properly tell it. So, consider yourself warned. This is basically a story of three nosey teenagers trespassing where they don’t belong. It is also a story of my own personal experience on something I saw with my own eyes and cannot properly explain. The story is true and happened many years ago. I hope you enjoy it and make it to the end.This story took place in 1989 or 1990. My family recently moved to southern Indiana, and we settled in a little town a few miles outside of Corydon called Central. For those of you that don’t know, this area is out in the country. It was my freshmen year in a new high school; however, I eventually met a couple of buddies who both lived somewhat close to me.One morning in class one of my friends talked about this “Old farmer” who lived not to far from his place outside of a little town called Mauckport. Evidently this old farmer passed away some months back and there did not seem to be anyone around his property. Urban/country legend was that this old farmer had his own catfish pond on his property that he stocked. The fish in this little pond were reportedly HUGE due to him not letting anyone fish on his property except him… That was all we needed to hear, all of us loved fishing and we made plans to stay at my friend’s place that weekend and go after these fish.The weekend arrived and the three of us found ourselves at the crack of dawn standing Infront of an old shabby looking farmhouse situated in the middle of an overgrown field. It was however by no means a working farm. The house did appear vacant and there were no vehicles around. Behind the house was the legendary pond, we immediately set to work trying to catch these gigantic fish. The entire time we fished the dark old house seemed to loom in the background. We quietly spoke among ourselves wondering what happened to the old farmer. My friend said all I know is one evening he saw an ambulance out front, a few days later his grandmother told him the old fella passed away, evidently, he was very elderly and lived by himself due to being widower. As the hours passed without even a nibble it became obvious the only thing biting were the bugs that swarmed us, the sun by that time was beating down on us making us sweaty and quite miserable. Soon boredom overtook us so, we decided to give up on our dreams of catching monster catfish. We packed our stuff and started to head back to my friend’s house.I was walking towards the road giving my friend hell (good naturedly) about his fanciful tale of trophy catfish and mysterious geriatric farmers when our other friend shouted out. Hey guys, the front door of this place is open, let’s check it out! We both looked back at him, then dumbly looked at each other. Being the young idiots, we truly were we nervously agreed dropped our fishing poles and decided to cautiously explore.What struck me as odd immediately upon entering the home was that was still fully furnished and looked lived in. The decor was dated in the 50’s thru 70’s era, dusty and very cluttered. The power was shut off to the house so the only light we had was whatever daylight made it thru the filthy curtains. Inside the house it was suffocatingly hot and stuffy. The house was filled with the stank of garbage, rot, mold, and nicotine. Upon entering the kitchen, we could hear a scurrying sound that we assumed was either roaches or mice. We found overflowing trashcans, as well as rotten food sitting on the messy counter tops. Dirty dishes filled the over full sink. There was the constant buzzing inside the house. This was due to the many flies trapped between the curtains and the windows. The atmosphere was very heavy and depressing, so much so I was feeling a bit sick to my stomach. Once we made our way into the living room we were met by a peculiar sight. The telephone was a typical old style rotary phone mounted on the wall. It had an extremely long cord. The receiver laid on the floor stretched to the middle of the room; it was dead. Surrounding the area around the receiver was what appeared to be rectangle shaped wrappers of paper backed plastic that was pulled apart, there was also bits of gauze and small hard plastic orange caps. An old grubby button up shirt also lay in the mess. The wrappers stood out because they seem to be the cleanest things in the house. I picked up one of the wrappers and looked at it in the ray of sunlight. I am certain whatever it contained was for medical purposes. We walked around the lower rooms and they were all pretty much the same, dust, extreme clutter, memories, and pictures of someone’s life. The house had two levels. We started to make out way up the old narrow wooden steps that creaked incredibly loud during our assent. The temperature upstairs was almost unbearably hot. All of us were drenched in sweat, the already rank smell of the house was now made more pungent by our own body odor. Being there was no windows in the stairwell we were in complete darkness fumbling and feeling our way up the stairs, we could barely see a dull glow of light shining thru the closed curtains on the upper level ahead. We made our way to the to of the steps and noticed three rooms.We made our way into one of the rooms. The lighting was very dim, as I made my way towards the curtain to let some light in, I was stepping on unknown items on the floor that crunched. I pulled open the curtains and we were immediately blinded by the light. As our eyes adjusted, we clearly saw we were in a bedroom. A room that looked like it was not slept in form many years. Dirty clothing was strung across the bed and across the floor in plies. The mattress was water stained and full of holes, as well as the ceiling. The floor was full of mice dropping and some sort of insect exoskeletons. I vividly recall a single framed black and white photo sitting on an old dusty nightstand of a young couple in an embrace. The man was in a military uniform with his hat jauntily placed on his head with a stoic expression. The woman with a feathery hat of her own smiled brightly holding a puppy between them.My buddy made his way to the next room. It was a small room/ large closet that seemed to be used as storage space. The walls had shelving that held many jars of various pickled fruits and vegetables all covered in grime. They floor space was packed with canning equipment, jars, pots, containers, and other utensils.We turned our attention to the last room and noticed the door to this room was closed. We opened the door and saw blackness. Our eyes now adjusted to the light could only see a few feet into the room. I once again carefully made my way to the window and opened the curtains, when the light came in, we were surprised at what we saw. This room yet dusty was immaculate. In the corner was a small bed, neatly made with stuffed animals. A wooden toy box sat at the foot of the bed full of old child’s toys. Little shoes and boots lined the wall next to the door. On the wall underneath the window was a small wooden desk and swivel chair. Written on the desk in a child’s handwriting was the name Loren in crayon. On the chest of drawers was a picture of a little boy in a lone ranger outfit standing next to a pony. I was suddenly overcome with a feeling that we REALLY need to leave. I turned to say the same to my friends when a tremendously loud crack blasted thru the silence, so much so that I thought it was a gunshot. We all literally jumped in fright. Both my friends immediately pointed to the wooden chair with looks of shock and fear on their faces. Time at this moment was in ultra-slow motion I remember my heart pounding in my chest so hard I was feeling the pressure in my ears. I glanced back just in time to see the small swivel chair quickly rotate with so much force it sent the desk crashing into the wall. We froze and stared at each other with mouths open in stupid disbelief. Suddenly my friend bolted for the door, this move triggered a full-on flight response in the other two of us. The only thought I had in my mind at that second was I would not be last one in line! I would run up and over my friends if they got in the way. In fact, I am pretty sure I rode one of them halfway down the stairs as he tripped in our panic sprint for the front door.The funny thing afterwards in the days that followed is we tried to convince each other we did not see what we did. Instead, we accused each other of pulling off a trick making the chair do that. It then morphed into teenage male bravado making fun of the others masculinity during our mad sprint for the door. Deep down we knew that was no trick, there is no faking the fear we saw in each other’s eyes that day. That happened…To this day I still can’t explain how.I moved again about a year later and eventually lost contact with the two individuals, such as life. I did learn however once the old farmer passed away nobody claimed his estate. From what I understand the State took it over. A company eventually came out to sell/auction off the useful items and disposed of the rest. I am not aware what became of the property or the house. I do know the state became owners of three fishing poles and a tackle box that day. We left them behind in our haste and had no intentions on going back to get them.

True horror story
I read all the posts because I believe. Here is my story.When I was 12 years old, my parents rented a home. They then shortly separated. I lived with my mom who was mostly out at her friends and my siblings who's 4 years younger than me spent a lot of time with my dad. We had no power, mom couldn't pay for it and my neighbor shared a line with a bulb with us. I was always alone in the dark. I started feeling things, scary things. I never had the time to tell mum as she was always gone early morning, she's a teacher then at night she was mostly out at her friends place. I lived in Mauritius in a town called quatre bornes. I started seeing shadows. Black shadows outside and white shadow inside. Only 1 white shadow inside and lots outside. It seemed like a movie. They were all female. No one believed me, absolutely no one. They all thought I was the girl in the dark house always lonely so I was making up stories.I started hearing the outside spirits. I'd always hear my name being called just as soon as I'd fall asleep. It wasn't any female voices of people I knew of. I lived in a detached house with a yard. One night, I woke up with my guitar that I always had on my wardrobe in my bed next to me and all my stuffed animals on the wardrobe. I was 5'6 at 12 and mom is only 5'1, she couldn't have even with a chair. My sibling was even shorter and why would he? Conclusion, no one did it. Mom mentioned that my door is always locked and why would she? A little bit later in that same month, I woke up to what looked like someone pressed their finger nail and wrote 'I love you (my name)'... The 4 door wardrobe was full of it. It was freaky. I tried to do it with my long nails and I had to press very hard to attempt doing it as Small as what they wrote and there were thousands of that same sentence written in less than 6 hours. Conclusion, no one did it and no one could explain. Things started changing. I started dreaming of people close to me. Everything I'd dream of would come true, I mean everything to its finest details. Only the bad predictions/accidents/premonitions. This made me go insane because I was always terrified to fall asleep because of all these episodes.I never saw or heard things move but who ever was in my house protected me from everything. It didn't want me to leave. Things/episodes gotten worst. I was born Hindu. So I mom called a Pandit. He could step foot in my yard. He said whatever it was, was very strong. Mom called a few other Pandits and now she started believing me. No one made it past the gate. Mom called the church and a priest came over and he could enter the yard either. Scary? Very. We started planning on leaving the house. We finally did after 3 years. I had to go to England because I couldn't plan anything in the house. Seemed like the house heard me talk. Next person who lived in the house lost his wife in the first month, second family also lost his wife. House stayed locked up for over 9 years until a dad and his son bought the house. They are there happily ever after, they don't have a girlfriend nor wife. Everytime I go back to Mauritius, I go visit the neighbors since I rent their vehicle. House looks exactly the same. It's so scary to me.I still get premonitions over 25 years later. Please don't ask me about lottery ticket or I would have done that a long time ago. I only get the bad premonition.

Ghost
The coveted title of “Most Haunted Village in Britain” seems to change holders almost every week, and depends very much on who is making the claim, but as far as the Midlands are concerned it appears that one place seems to rise above all others when the topic comes up – Prestbury. This charming Gloucestershire village lies in the ominous shadow of Cleeve Hill, near to the town of Cheltenham, and like so many of our villages it began as an Anglo-Saxon settlement. Preostdabyrig was its original name which in Old English meant “priest's fort” so it could have once been a stronghold built to house a priest or perhaps built under his instructions, possibly to defend against rampaging Danes. In any case, this “priest” origin might have something to do with the haunted reputation of Prestbury...The most well-known ghost in the village is reputed to be the figure of a priest or monk who takes a little tour of the streets beginning at the church of St Mary. From the churchyard the hooded cleric walks through the grounds of the old priory next door, naturally walking straight through the surrounding wall, before heading for the High Street from where he loiters on a patch of land reputed to have once been a cemetery before he casually enters a cottage where he then vanishes into an upstairs room! This figure is known as “The Black Abbot” and is said to only appear on the major religious festivals such as Christmas, Easter and All Saint's Day, so at least we know when to expect him! In 1990 a photographer named Derek Stafford caught the eerie silhouette of what appears to be a cowled figure in the churchyard, while trying to get a moody shot of the gravestones in the floodlights – I have posted this picture here so you can judge for yourself...Two phantom riders also haunt Prestbury, the first a fellow in Medieval dress mounted on a brilliant white charger. He is said to be the spectre of a messenger who was racing to the camp of Edward IV on the eve of the Battle of Tewkesbury. Lancastrian scouts and snipers dotted the area and one such archer killed the rider as he made his journey. Interestingly, it has been said that although the descriptions of this ghost seem to come from quite old and antiquated accounts, more modern witnesses have only seen a strange glowing “blob” shape along his route. Perhaps his shade is fading away?The other spectral rider is said to be that of another messenger from another conflict – the English Civil War. Prestbury was a Parliament stronghold and the occupying Roundheads would string ropes across the lanes at night to catch anyone trying to race in or out of the village. They did indeed catch a fly in their web, a Royalist rider racing to Gloucester, and the shocked man was flung head-first towards the waiting soldiers. After a beating it was clear he was not going to give anything away and so the messenger was killed there in the lane. They say you can hear the galloping hooves and screaming of his horse racing along Shaw Green Lane towards the ominous Cleeve Hill in the early hours of certain mornings. A “White Lady” has been seen wandering another street, phantom harpsichord music is heard in a house, a little girl was seen in the grounds of the Prestbury Hotel and a man in full armour has been sighted clanking along The Burgage...while on more than one occasion people living near the church have been strangled by an invisible figure! Possibly the most bizarre ghost of the village is the occasional appearance, again near the church, of a phantom shepherd complete with a transparent flock of sheep!Prestbury is a beautiful village with three welcoming old pubs, The Plough next to St Mary's Church being the oldest, so judge for yourself on a visit soon. Please respect the graveyard and surrounding area though, as in 2019 the Reverend Nick Bromfield banned all ghost walks and tours from the church grounds!
