Bear with me
When my father died, I buried him along with the lucky necklace he gave me before he breathed his last. It was a piece of jewelry that was passed down from generation to generation in our family, from father to son and so on. But for me it was just an old piece, maybe made of gold, maybe not, in any case I couldn't wear something like that, even though it was very precious to my father and also to my grandfather. So at the cemetery I insisted that the only inheritance I received from my father must be placed in his coffin. He can keep it, if you know what I mean.

The Book That Consumed Me
As you sit down to read this story, I must warn you that it is not for the faint of heart. It is a story of terror, of what happened to the last reader who didn't take the time to read it. But fear not, dear reader, for you are not that person.

Doctor Winters Forgetfulness Clinic-My Uncle Trapped a Demon
"Mr. Pate, how are you today?" The man sitting across from her looked like he was doing quite poorly. Calling him a man might have been generous, Dr. Winter saw. He was a large teen, probably still in high school, but his face bore the look worn by inmates on death row. Though filled with melancholy, he had none of the trappings that usually accompanied children in their late teens. His arms bore none of the self-harm scars Winter usually found. He wasn't festooned in dark colors or piercings, and even his haircut was unassuming.

Rain. Content Warning.
Content Warning: Cosmic horror, tentacles. A wind had blown in from the sea in the night and brought with it storm clouds that closed over the city with the finality of a coffin lid. Rain waited patiently to fall, the upturned faces of the people scurrying from cover to cover waited anxiously for it, hoping that it would hold off just long enough. One upturned face in particular bit her lip and tried to guess exactly when the clouds would decide to let their load go.

The Owls are Not What They Seem
I wrote this article a few years ago, but I think it is time I revisited this topic. Owls have always been one of my favorite birds, so when I learned that they have some connection with aliens and the supernatural, well, I had to dig my heels in. This is what I found.

The Ride Home
“She was drowning. She thrashed violently against the waves like an animal, but Step-Dad wouldn’t let go. Eventually, the screams stopped and he turned his attention to me. My body was shaking as if an earthquake was happening, his footstep felt that way. He grabbed me by my shirt, I couldn’t resist, my mind had shut down.”
