The Hollow Street House
They said that the house on Hollow Street was cursed. No one had lived there for nearly thirty years. Its porch sagged with age, and its windows were empty, watching eyes. The locals told tales of screams at night, lights that flickered by themselves, and shadows that moved without anyone being there. However, Daniel, then seventeen, was against ghost stories. When his family moved to town, the old Hollow house was the only one they could afford. The rumors were laughed off by his parents. His father stated, "Just old wood creaking." "Houses do not spook people." However, as soon as they moved in, Daniel realized that something was wrong. On the first night, as he unpacked boxes in his room, he felt cold air against his neck, though the windows were shut. He turned quickly, but no one was there. Then he heard it—a faint tapping sound from inside the walls.

The Whispers in Room 313
Rain came down in sheets as Aryan alighted from the auto-rickshaw, his bag damp and his shoes squelching on the dirty puddles. He had reached his new school in a small town, a long way from the city where he had lived hitherto. The single room he could manage was in the school's extremely old hostel—a building that didn't appear as though it had been cared for in years.

The Man Upstairs
Samantha's new apartment was absolutely perfect. Brand-new stainless steel appliances and granite counters in the kitchen; fully furnished with pieces that were both tasteful and comfortable; a closet big enough to double as an extra bedroom; and a million-dollar view of the city from every window. On top of all it's perks, she got it for a song. When she showed her mother the listing, neither of them believed it could be as good as it looked in the pictures. The minute they walked through the door at the open house, Samantha was in love. Her mother, however, was a bit more cautious and skeptical.
