Mind games taken way too far; explore the disturbing genre of psychological thrillers that make us question our perception of sanity and reality.
First Mate
Two bodies wash up on a sandy beach. It is the morning after a heavy storm and the air still smells of it. Their ship had been taken by the storm and these fortunate souls survived. One man coughs up seawater as he awakens. He is bald with unkempt, mangy mutton chops. Looking around he sees the other body beginning to stir. Their ragged clothes are waterlogged as they rise and approach one another.

Six feet under
“I’d love to take you out sometime. Said the dark haired boy “I have a boyfriend.” I told him, like I did everyone. It was twenty six flights up to my room again. And another twenty six minutes spent sobbing on my bed. When I had finally composed myself to come look in the mirror. Oh. My makeup was running in streaks down my face, and even my contacts had popped out from all the tears. The absence of makeup and contacts left this face in the mirror. The dead eyes, milky blue and cracked. The skin, the complexion of a corpse, which was fitting. And the forever pictured wound that had been frozen in time on her forehead. It didn’t hurt anymore. It had only hurt the first time. When that man had bludgeoned me to death in that alley way, looking for money that I didn’t have. To be honest, I hadn’t particularly minded. After my Alex had drowned in the lake the previous week, I hadn’t eaten anything. As I died, I remember feeling almost glad. I’d be able to see Alex again. But it was not to be. Fate laughed at us. Here I was, in the world of the living, forced to paint my face and act like I was still alive. And Alex was somewhere else entirely, and the closest I could get to him was that grave. So I left my makeup compacts open on the table and left. It was a short walk to his graveyard. I had made sure of that. I brought roses. I knew they would wilt and die, but his grave was too dry to grow anything. It never rained here.

The Water Hole
This is a horror story for the Vocal Foggy Waters challenge . I do not usually write fiction , but the challenges force me out of my comfort zone, and hopefully that makes me a better writer. The lead in music will be “Drowning” by the Beat. This story is influenced by the style of Franz Kafka where a person does not know why he is where he is.

Outside
"Jace, you're going to be late! Wake Up!!" Jace rolls over in his bed, frustrated at the woman yelling at him and the sun glaring through his window. His bedroom faced the east so every morning it beamed at him as if to say he has wasted enough time sleeping. "Jace! Not again!!" The voice calls to him from downstairs, he sits up in a panic, "Damn, I fell back asleep!" He jumps out of bed grabbing the first outfit he can throw together and getting ready in a hurry. Jace quickly runs down the stairs passed an elderly woman sitting in the living room, she looks tired as usual, must have stayed up all night again. As Jace runs out the front door he gives a quick, "Love you Sierra!" Sierra was his aunt, she took care of him ever since his father went on what he said was an "expedition" and an "important research assignment."

Circus Land
Darren had never driven this road before; Maria was navigating from the rear passenger seat and had fallen asleep some time ago. The other two in the car also seemed to be busy on their cellphones or electronic devices. The road was two lanes, few houses, and the moon was bright in the sky above them. Darren noticed as they drove, he saw fewer and fewer other vehicles on the road, but he did not worry much as it was just after midnight.

To Believe or Not to Believe?
I feel like either you’re a believer or you’re not. And there are many who have been skeptics their entire lives but have an experience in which they encounter something out of the ordinary. This experience can change their perspective entirely or leave them on the fence not believing that what happened really happened. What I am talking about here is Paranormal, Ghostly and Supernatural Encounters. I will be sharing my own personal experiences with things of this nature that have happened in my life.
