Superstition in my and other countries
Start writing...In every country there a lot of superstition that's believed by the people of that country. A superstition is a belief or practice that isn’t entirely based on facts or reality, like carrying a rabbit’s foot because you think it brings you good fortune, or believing that Friday the 13th is a day of bad luck. So now I want to describe the superstition where i live. 1.Meat should not be consumed on certain days Many foreigners stereotype the Indians as being vegetarians. They’re wrong. A lot of Indians are non-vegetarians. Well, except on Tuesdays and Saturdays. 2.Eclipses are bad omens for pregnant women Pregnant women in India have a hard time during eclipses. Not only are they supposed to stay indoors during the entire time, they’re not even allowed to sit cross-legged. 3.An itchy left palm means money is coming to you Been wanting to escape to an exotic holiday location? Have an eye on that swanky new car? All you’ve got to do is close your eyes and wish really really hard that your left palm starts to itch soon! 4.Do not cut nails after sunset Cutting nails after dark is a strict no-no, unless you want to invite some unwelcome misfortune into your life. 5.Wearing gemstones brings good fortune In India, we frequently consult astrologers who advise us to wear certain gemstones to improve our fate. 6.If a black cat crosses your path, then your tasks get delayed or postponed.Poor black cats. They are blamed just for being black (no racist joke here). It's a popular belief in the west too that, if a black cat crosses your path, it’s a bad omen. 7.You lose your wealth, if you shake your legs.Shaking legs is not just a sign of nervousness. It also drives away your wealth. It is believed that if you shake your legs, prosperity will flow away from you. That explains, why we are so broke at the end of the month right! 8.Sweeping floors in the evening drives away Laxmi from the home.Even if your room is filthy, your mom will not let you sweep the floor in the evening. That's because Hindus believe that Goddess Laxmi generally visits homes during the evenings (specifically around 6-7 pm), and therefore sweeping will drive her away. This is, of course, assuming that Goddess Laxmi has a problem with basic hygiene. 9.Eye twitching. It is considered that the right eye twitching is good for men, and the left one brings good news for women. 10.Eating curd before stepping out for work.Well, it is believed that eating curd mixed with a little sugar brings good luck if you are going for an important work or task.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Nocebo' (2022)
Man, this movie could shake you. It is a powerful folk tale about one person's punishment. First off, let's just talk about how fucking fascinating the Filipino folk traditions in this movie are. Now, I have NO idea how accurate they are, but my wife did confirm some one the ones she recognized. All the same, other culture's take on horror is just so facinating. I just wanna know what scares people and really dissect it.

Forgotten Woods. Top Story - June 2023.
It was already night when I arrived. Storm was passed but the soil still showed the unequivocal signs of its strength. The leaves still carried a slim layer of water that reflected the subtle moonlight and bestowed upon the forest an otherworldly quality. There was no wind, everything was still and quiet. I didn’t notice that at first, we’re always busy paying attention to what we can perceive that we forget about what we’re missing. The forest was clearly unnatural, but, weary and irritable as I was, I just cared to be inside the cabin so I ignored every warning that waved in front of me.
