The Black Phone
Just the other week I went to see The Black Phone with a friend. I was very excited for the film, between the trailers and my love for Ethan Hawke I was sold and stoked. The twisted ending that was in fact a shocker, along with the reviews about it online were a nice addition to the reasons why I was very excited to see this film in theaters. I however, had anticipated way more of a horror film than what I experienced. It’s safe to say the concept alone was more terrifying than the movie. So, here’s why I think you need to see the Black Phone, even though I wouldn’t call the film horrifying.

Classic Movie Review Saw 6
Since the series debuted in 2004 I have been trying to convince people of the insidious brilliance of the Saw movies. Not merely another torture porn horror series, the Saw movies have a theory behind them. The lead character Jigsaw, aka John Kramer, played by Tobin Bell, believes that he can teach those who have taken their lives for granted to appreciate the gift of life. Jigsaw’s 'tests' are designed not merely to put these people in life and death situations but to reveal their true selves, their inherent nature, morality and character. Each is given a chance to reveal who they are through the choices they make and in doing so save their life or doom them.

The Best Selling Horror Movies of All Time!
Is there a better genre than horror? I don't think so. Horror movies are fun, scary, and often have some twist at the end that makes you say "What?!" They're also super-popular at the box office. A couple of years ago, I wrote an article about how Hollywood was releasing too many superhero movies - like every single weekend - and it was hurting diversity in film. But then something happened: people started noticing that horror films were getting more popular than ever before! And now we all know why: horror movies aren't just scary; they're also lucrative investments for movie studios that want to make money fast (and cheaply). So if you're looking for a new way to make money on your next project but don't want to deal with angry fans if their favorite character dies off screen…make it a horror film! Here's my list of the best selling horror films of all time:

Classic Movie Review: 'Scream' My Summer of Classics
Scream was a flashpoint in the horror genre of the mid to late 1990s. Some credit a smart marketing campaign, the film was distributed by Dimension Films, a branch of then indie powerhouse Miramax. Putting aside all that we know about Harvey Weinstein and his company, they made Scream a phenomenon through incredible word of mouth at a time when the horror genre was at the lowest of lows.

Fantasy Island (2020) Movie Review
Fantasy Island is a lot of dumb fun, but if you're looking for a horrifying psychological thriller, this won't be your cup of tea. The plot follows five characters, J.D Weaver & Brax Weaver (played by Ryan Hansen and Jimmy O. Yang), who are brothers. Patrick Sullivan (played by Austin Stowell) and two women, Melanie Cole (played by Lucy Hale) and Gewn Olsen (played by Maggie Q). Each character has their own fantasy in mind and the mysterious island owner, Mr. Roarke (played by Michael Peña), is here to provide.

Movie Review: 'Nope' Spoiler Free Review . Top Story - July 2022.
A shoe stands on its end, the toe pointing into the air. It’s an evocative image, shoes don’t do that. But a shoe does do that in the new Jordan Peele horror thriller Nope. Come to think of it, the sight of a shoe in such an unnatural position is the kind of image that might cause one to say ‘Nope’ while slowly backing away from whatever might be the cause of this image. It’s not just a shoe though, there’s a well placed drop of blood on that shoe as well that offers another disturbing aspect to this sight. Then the context for the shoe comes fully into frame and…
