When it comes to telling ghost stories, some people take their roles very seriously. From telling creepy tales around the campfire to writing frightening fiction about ghosts and haunted houses, there are many people who find this sort of thing very scary. However, these stories are often so unbelievable that you have to wonder if anybody would actually believe them. While these stories may seem absurdly ridiculous and impossible, there is a reason why they’ve persisted for so long. Humans have been telling ghost stories probably since the invention of speech. There are good reasons why they have stuck around for so long – because they are based in truth. Although the details may be more embellished than we can imagine, there is truth behind every one of these ghost stories. So let’s take a look at some of the most famous ghost stories and see what’s behind them... The Montague Mansion: The Montague Mansion is one of the most famous haunted places in America. It is also one of the most famous ghost stories in America. The story goes that around 100 years ago, the son of the owner of the house murdered his wife in a fit of rage. Since the murder, people who have stayed in that house have reported hearing screaming and crying, as well as seeing blood on the walls. The truth behind this ghost story is that the bloodstains were there when the house was purchased in the early 1900s. However, the story behind them is not as simple as a murder. The house was owned by a couple who had three children, two boys and one girl. When the girl was around 9 years old, she showed signs of a serious illness. Doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her, but they could tell that she was suffering from both physical pain and some sort of mental anguish. Eventually, her parents decided to put her into a mental institution. The Suicide Bridge: According to legend, the Suicide Bridge in Scotland is haunted by the ghosts of those who committed suicide by jumping off the bridge. In fact, it is said that if you walk across the bridge carrying a pair of scissors, the bridge will open up and swallow you whole. There is a very real reason why there are so many stories of ghosts near this bridge. In the early 1900s, the bridge was actually a very busy place. The bridge was where people would throw the bodies of loved ones who committed suicide into the water below. This practice was so common that it became known as “scuttling the bridge.” However, the bridge has since become a place where those who contemplate suicide go to get help. There is still a large network of support for people who suffer from depression, and these organizations often use the bridge as a place for people to go for help. The Woman in White: The Woman in White is one of the most famous ghost stories in Britain. The story goes that once you have seen the Woman in White, you will never be able to escape her. The woman is said to be the ghost of a woman who was left to die in a house fire. The story says that the woman’s husband started the fire in order to collect on her life insurance policy. The truth behind this ghost story is much more tragic. The Woman in White was a real woman who actually did die in a fire. However, she was not murdered by her husband. She was actually a single mother who was trying to make a living as a seamstress. She rented a room in a boarding house, and one night a fire broke out in the house. The woman was trapped on the third floor, and she died there. The Hookman: The Hookman is one of the most famous ghost stories in New York City. The story goes that a man would go around the city and approach people with an iron hook for a hand. He would then ask his victim a question and if they answered it wrong, he would kill them with the hook. The truth behind this ghost story is that it was probably connected to a series of murders in New York City in the 1970s. A man named David Berkowitz was nicknamed “the Son of Sam” and was known as the “Hookman” because he used a pair of old scissors to kill people. Berkowitz was later arrested, tried, and sentenced to five life sentences in prison. The Old Asylum for the Insane: The Old Asylum for the Insane is a very old and scary looking building in New York City. The building was originally built as an asylum for the insane and operated in this capacity for many years. However, in 1913, the building was shut down and abandoned. People who have explored the building have reported strange noises and feelings of being watched. There are many ghost stories connected to this building. There is even a famous horror movie about the place. The truth behind this ghost story is surprisingly simple. The building was actually shut down because it was incredibly unsanitary. The patients were living in squalor, and the terrible conditions were bound to lead to infection. The building was torn down long ago and replaced with a much smaller building that still operates today. Bottom line: This brings us to the end of our article. We’ve seen that there is some truth behind every scary story. In fact, there have probably been people embellishing the facts behind these stories since long before they were written down. So the next time you hear a scary story, remember that it’s probably not as far-fetched as it seems.

My Top 15 Halloween Horror Nights Houses
1. The Cabin In The Woods (23) cabin but its a rubiks cube Halloween Horror Nights 23- you know you never forget your first time. That first lung full of fog from the machines . . . the funnel cakes . . . the screams . . . ahh, there's nothing quite like your first experience is there? There were a lot of great houses that year, and it was one of the years where pretty much everything was dedicated to the Walking Dead (seriously every scare zone was just walkers), but this house holds a special place in my heart. I'd never seen the movie before, but after going through this house I became obsessed with the ideas inside, and so got to watch the movie a few months afterwards. I adored passing by the "broken" cages and seeing the nightmares that lay within, and watching a unicorn skewer a man on the CCTV screens, blood splattered as they were. To this day it's one of my top five favorite horror movies.

Halloween Arriving
With October being only 2 in half months away and Halloween always being celebrated in that period of time. I thought I would write my view on it and let people know what I think about it. Last year during the middle of October I thought I should go and see the new Michael Myers Halloween movie in the theatres. And I was very curious to see if they had added some new stuff to it we are living in a technological age now. I was really amazed at how many people came out to support this movie, only because it was done in the late 70's early 80's.

The Grey Lady
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Will froze still in his tracks, spotting the candle’s faint spark of light scattering through the gaps of the silhouetted pine trunks from a far. The only light guiding him through the forest since morning was that of his torch and the small cracks of moonlight fighting their way through the branches above. Though Will had been walking since the early hours, the shielded, eerie landscape of the Romanian forest barely allowed any daylight to enter at all. Will searched through the thick, dense flora in hope to find his friend Michael, or at least a clue that would lead him to his whereabouts.
