The Collection
“Hey crazy! I know it’s a long shot because it’s miserable outside, but me and Jazz are going to the movies, wanna come?” Keeton says, pulling me from my blissful trance. I turn from my bedroom window to face her, “I love that you still ask after all these years. You know my place is here amongst my books on days such as these.”

An Expedition for Witches
Kira didn’t know much about the history of Explorers’ Recovery, only that it had been constructed a long time ago to prevent expeditions from being lost to the snowy mountainscape. When her father had first come here on a research grant, it had been barely more than a small cabin. Kira only had a distant memory of this because, soon after her arrival, agencies had begun marketing mountain retreats to the wealthy. A developer had bought Explorers’ Recovery and upgraded it from a small outpost to a lavish resort.

The Asset
She opened her eyes to realize that the stasis pod had been opened slightly. The gases meant to pacify her were spilling out through the crack and escaping into the air. She ripped off the sensors meant to monitor her brainwaves. She sat up and pushed the lid aside.

Home
She didn’t do it. No. No. No no no no no no no. No! She hadn’t done anything wrong. It was just a black book. Small, slightly charred on the edges but otherwise totally normal. But Katie felt herself drawn to the little black book left on the bench next to her… she turned back to her lunch. But as hard as she tried, she couldn't stop glancing at the book, she gathered her things into her bag, and after a moment's hesitation threw the book in too. Katie turned on her computer and scrolled though Netflix or Prime. Nothing interested her. She needed a distraction anything to keep from thinking about the huge bill that had just gone out of her account, remembering she pulled the black book out of her account. She flicked it open and saw…a name, an address, a sentence ‘I will win the lotter and a signature. She was confused the next page was the same but a different person and sentence 'My son will get better’.

It Was In The Shadows
It was in the shadows that Lilith was happiest. Lilith found the darkness to be her friend. At seven years of age, the shadows were more comforting and friendly to her than the sunshine and people around her. Her own family were aware that she was different. Red Ruby Seeds
A/N: This story deals heavily in cannibalism as a cultural practice. It also features decapitation and themes of war. The tree stood as the road between heaven and the earth. Its branches grazed the rush of stars overhead and its roots twisted into the rocky soil of the plains. Its rotund trunk and lush foliage spoke of years of survival in this harsh place. Its limbs groaned with dull red fruit, their corpulent bodies split on the ground all around their mother, their wet innards glistening in the moonlight.
