As Below, So Above
Jake ponders how he got to this point as he drives through the town he has lived in for the last seven years. He barely recognizes it. The once safe and sunny, summer community on the ocean has become riddled with shopping cart cities. Poor souls with hollow eyes and their lives in garbage bags slung over their shoulders wander the streets looking for anything to take their pain away.

Night Chills
Felix Barclay cherished visiting his grandma every summer when school let out. It was always sunny on the drive. Warm tendrils of light stretched into the backseat of his mother’s SUV to tickle along his skin. She baked the same cookies, white chocolate and orange, and served them up sandwiched around a thick chunk of homemade vanilla ice cream. He craved it all year. Almost as much as the sight of her face. The comfort of her embrace.

Visions From the Depths

The Abyssal Reckoning
Slithering solemnly through the saline abyss, it wanders for the next bloom of doom. From the abyssal plain, it waxes and wanes to bring justice to the insane stain of the human brain. It has been known by many a name. Siren, banshee, sea witch, gorgon, selkie, Cthulhu, La Llorona, and Calypso are but a few that we once knew. When we rise too far, it comes to crush our hubris. We have disturbed its slumber once again. Now it rises to eat the crystalline souls of control.

The Blue Hole
Visiting the Blue Hole was a rite of passage for kids in our town. It was in the woods, but only about a five minute walk from some apartments. So it had mystery to it, but really, help was just a quick dash away. We weren't supposed to go there, and most kids didn’t actually swim in it. But if you dipped a toe in or drank a handful of the clear water, it meant you were brave. It was stupid, and dangerous. But that’s what kids do.
