Pilot
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Within the warm glare of that melting fire, bodies gathered around, desperate to clutch its warmth. As the flame danced amusing staring eyes, the silence of the room grew heavier and heavier. Here lay countless eyes that had seen countless wonders, each and every person had been entranced in some grand adventure unique and diverse in infinite mystery. These were Vangel warriors who had pledged their sword and soul to the immortal Venus. Under her eternal banner, they had found themselves in the midst of fantastic epics, great tales that they would now tell within the warmth of the cabin. Everything spoken was truth, so the question was now asked................. What happened?

The Lure
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. It swayed, bobbing leisurely from left to right, in a pattern that was almost hypnotic. An inexplicable calm washed through me despite my muscles being wound tight in adrenaline-fueled panic mere moments earlier. Already my brain was rationalizing why the gentle flicker of the candle flame soothed me.

Babe in the Woods
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. As we pulled out of the driveway I looked over my shoulder and thought mother you are insane for wanting to spend six weeks in that cabin on your own. Ever since dad passed away 6 years ago my mother had started to take herself off to weird, random locations to be on her own for a few weeks. She called it her ‘recharge’ time. She would write, do yoga, meditate, walk etc. She was so much braver than me. The candle flickered in the distance as we drove around the corner away from the cabin.

art of decay
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. The sentence sits on the page in an uneven, typewriter font. There is nothing but an off-white emptiness after the punctuation, space where words should be but aren’t. Elliot’s fingers stay frozen over the keys, worn and faded from years of use. Not his use, but remnants of the previous owner, whoever that had been. Probably the last sorry soul to reside in this cabin with hopes of clearing their head long enough to finish their manuscript.
