fiction
Horror fiction that delivers on its promise to scare, startle, frighten and unsettle. These stories are fake, but the shivers down your spine won't be.
The Call to the Void
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Truthfully, it wasn't the first time the candle had burned but it was the first time in over forty years that anyone had been unfortunate enough to see its bright flame.

The Cabin at Capron Landing
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Those who drove past it could not believe their eyes; who could be living in that decrepit old place? The two-level cabin had stood vacant for more than ten years and had become weathered and worn, looking woefully like something out of a horror movie. Speculation around the village of Badgerville, deep in the western Canadian woods, was running rampant, and curiosity was getting the best of most to the point that they had started inventing tales. So as Kali walked into the Whiskey Watering Hole Bar and Grill around seven-thirty on that Friday evening, people were too busy to notice the pretty brunette as she walked by and took a seat in the corner booth.

After Your Ears, Before Your Eyes
“The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window.” Instantly, your friend bursts out in laughter. “Ooh, scary guys! You’re starting off with the cabin in the woods,” your friend says with a chuckle. She’s always doing her best to be the comic relief. It’s especially annoying now, given her audience of two, rather than your usual group of friends. “And a ghost, right?”

For Anna
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. The candle was fine, you see, for she was in a part of the forest that few wandered far enough to encounter, and if they did happen across the cabin, the candle would be the least of her worries.

Friends in the Woods
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. The pair of teenagers eye's widened at the sight as they got closer to the cottage. Built easily two hundred plus years ago, the decrepit cave boasted decaying logs and cracked windows.

Bait
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Even from a distance, one could not mistake the faint, cheery glow of trembling flame for anything else. Yet its presence was incongruous with this location in time and space. Warm wavelengths of light seeped out sacriligiously into pristine darkness.

The Floorboards Of Sin
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. CRASH A pale hand emerged, breaking through the rotten floorboards. The hand creaked and cracked as it stretched its fingers, as if waking from a deep slumber.
