Numb
Woke up feeling numb, high pitch sound and blurry vision was there for a couple of seconds but it faded away, the place where I was could have been anywhere truly! because I did not recognize it. Where was I? and what was I doing there? Feeling extremely tired I began to get up to take a look around and attempt to make sense of what was going on. Come on! I said to myself, please remember what you did last………..Oh no! then I felt a sudden chill all over my body.

The Warrior Prologue
PROLOGUE “Where are we going?” I asked Emma as she dragged me down a narrow alleyway that leads to a dead end. She didn’t respond to my question and I tugged my wrist out of her hand, causing her to stop dead in her tracks. She turned her head to look at me, her glossed lips glittered beneath the soft glow of a nearby street light but half of her face was concealed in the shadows, unable to read her expression. “Em,” I said in hopes to draw her attention to me instead of her drawing back from reality. “Are you okay?” I asked.

Stacy… The last three days had been amazing. Justin had been doting on her, making sure that she was coping with being out in the woods. They hadn’t seen anyone since they’d gotten there. Justin had said that he’d purposely chosen a secluded area because it would be the best way to help her heal. She had to admit that she had been nervous at the start of this but now she was completely at ease. Right now, she was lounging in the tent waiting for Justin to come back. They were near a stream and he had gone out fishing. He been going fishing for the last two days but so far, he hadn’t caught anything.

The Split
~ Micah looks outside his window silently, chewing on his bottom lip, a bad habit he could never get out of. His brother, James, was talking in the background, but he could barely hear his words. He was too focused on what was hanging around outside his window.

Stacy… Stacy had been running for six days. So far, the Hunter hadn’t left her any clues as to where she should be going. To be honest, she wasn’t even sure he was still chasing her. She was sure that she’d heard him leave a couple of days ago. Either that or she’d been close to someone else. She couldn’t risk checking, or she might run right into him. Stacy sat down to rest. She ate some trail mix and drank some water. After a few minutes she began to run again. She hoped that Justin was okay. She would never be able to forgive herself if something happened to him because of her.

Chapter Three Amanda… It had been a month since her ordeal in the forest. She was going to therapy and that was helping. She was also taking self-defense classes as well as wilderness survival classes. She couldn’t be sure that the hunter wouldn’t come after her again, but she would be prepared if he did. She had talked to Stacy the first week after the man, who was named Austin, had rescued them. After that first week Stacy had disconnected her phone and moved. Amanda had also moved and changed her number. Every now and then Austin would call to check on how she was doing. She’d googled him and it turns out that along with being an avid outdoorsman he was also a successful real estate developer. He was in the beginning stages of developing parts of the forest where he’d found them. They had been spending a lot of time together over the past month and he was helping Amanda get back to normal. Normal was going out and having fun, which she was getting ready for now. Austin would be picking her up in thirty minutes and they were going for dinner and a movie. Amanda was glad to be getting out and she hoped that Stacy was doing the same. The police hadn’t been able to catch the hunter, even with Austin’s description. Stacy couldn’t remember anything about the hunter and all Amanda could remember was his voice. The case was still open, but Amanda wasn’t holding out any hope that he would be caught. Amanda looked out the window and saw Austin pull up. She took one final look in the mirror before heading out the door. Tonight, would be the first night of a start of a new, happy life, with minimal fear and worry of what could happen.
