Now I will share an incident that was sent to us by Vivek Bandhan. He's from Lamapara in Shibganj, Sadar Upazila, Sylhet District. He passed his HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) in 2023. He is a very active member across all our platforms – Facebook, YouTube, everywhere. Let's get into the incident he sent. The incident happened to a distant uncle of his named Topu. The location of the incident is Robidas village in Tajpur Bazar, Osmaninagar Upazila, Sylhet. The time was around 1985 or '86. Vivek Bandhan heard this story from his father. One night, when the power went out, the conversation turned to ghost stories, and that's when Bandhan's father told this story to everyone. So, let's get to the story. This Topu uncle was a very brave and stubborn man. Many people used to say that he had a djinn with him. He could do the work of many people alone. He also ate a lot. Sometimes, you know, some people have more physical strength than others, and some say that person has a djinn – something like that. Anyway, when he was a young man of 20 or 21, he was a helper on a vehicle similar to a tempo, like the Laguna-type vehicles we see now, where people sit and travel from one place to another. There were such vehicles in that area. He was a helper on such a vehicle. The vehicle belonged to someone from Robidas village. Topu uncle worked with him and helped him, in return for some money. Since he was a vehicle helper, he often had to sleep in the vehicle at night. There wasn't a separate parking area or anything like that. He would sleep wherever the vehicle was parked.

So, once it happened that the car was parked under a big jujube tree. Apparently, the villagers used to talk a lot about that jujube tree, you know, mentioning different scary things. So, Tapu Kaka was sleeping in the car that day. It was very late at night, Manik couldn't really tell the exact time. Suddenly, he noticed that some people were jumping and making noise on the back of the car. Tapu Kaka had an iron rod under the seat where he was sleeping. He took it and came outside, thinking, "Let's see what's going on." He saw seven or eight dwarf-like people jumping around. Tapu Kaka got really angry. Where did these things come from so late at night, shaking the car and jumping on it, ruining his sleep? He started hitting them randomly with the rod he had in his hand. He was hitting them relentlessly. There was a market nearby, and the dwarves ran towards it. He chased after them, hitting the ones that were within his reach with the rod. In the process, one of the dwarves slipped and fell to the ground. Tapu Kaka started beating him. At one point, the dwarf pleaded with Tapu Kaka, joining his hands, "Don't kill me, I'm leaving." But Tapu Kaka ignored him and continued to beat him severely. Eventually, the dwarf, screaming in pain, went lifeless in front of Tapu Kaka's eyes. After that, he left and went back to sleep in the car. Nothing else happened that night. In the morning, he went to the spot and saw a black cat lying dead. Another black cat was sitting beside it. The cat looked at Tapu Kaka with anger as soon as it saw him. Tapu Kaka went forward and kicked that cat hard. After kicking it, he screamed, "Oh my God! Oh Father! Oh Father, Mother!"

The reason is that the kick he gave seemed like he kicked a rock, and the cat didn't make a sound after being kicked. On the contrary, Tupu Kaka himself was in a lot of pain. Then Tupu Kaka saw the cat walking away. From that night on, he actually stopped sleeping in the car. He started staying at Bandhan Bhai's father's maternal uncle's house, you know. So, he used to live in Bandhan Bhai's father's maternal uncle's house. The room he stayed in was next to the cowshed, a bit separate from the main house. Bandhan Bhai's father also lived in Bandhan Bhai's father's maternal uncle's house at that time, you know. I mean, even then, Bandhan Bhai's father lived in Bandhan Bhai's father's maternal uncle's house, the same house where Tupu Kaka had started staying.

Now, the room where Bandhan Bhai's father stayed was close to the room where Tupu Kaka stayed, more or less. That is, if anything happened, it could be heard from Bandhan Bhai's father's room. It was about three in the morning when Bandhan Bhai's father suddenly heard sounds of a scuffle coming from Tupu Kaka's room. Tupu Kaka was calling out to Bandhan Bhai's father, but Bandhan Bhai's father was scared, too afraid to go out. When the call to prayer for Fajr (dawn prayer) reached his ears, the scuffling stopped. Then Bandhan Bhai's father came out of his room and went to Tupu Kaka's room. He went and saw Tupu Kaka sitting on the bed with a huge machete. Then Bandhan Bhai's father asked, "What happened? What is it?" Then Tupu Kaka told him everything that had happened before and what was happening now. He hadn't said anything before this.

So, Tupu Kaka says, "I was sleeping when suddenly I felt like someone was next to me. I opened my eyes and saw no one. Then I heard some noises from under my bed. When I shone a light under the bed, I saw some dwarf-like people. There were 20 to 25 of them. They came crawling out from under the bed and surrounded me from all sides." Tupu Kaka always slept with a machete under his pillow because there were a lot of thieves around that time. He managed to grab the machete with great difficulty.

As soon as Ramda (a type of machete) was in his hand, those dwarfs let him go. He took the Ramda and started hacking at the field, but he noticed that none of the blows were hitting them. It felt like he was chopping at the air; the Ramda was passing right through their bodies. Suddenly, he saw a very stout, short, and ugly dwarf arrive. Suddenly, his skin turned pitch black, and you couldn't make out his eyes or face. He came and snatched the Ramda from Tapu Kaka's (Uncle Tapu) hand, then slammed him into the ground. And the other dwarfs started slamming him back and forth, like a football, throwing him from one place to another. That's how it was.

Just then, the sound of the Azan (Muslim call to prayer) was heard, and supposedly, all of them vanished before his eyes. After hearing everything, Badhon Bhai's (Brother Badhon's) father told everyone in the house to call a *Kaviraj* (traditional healer). There was a good *Kaviraj* near the house. After telling him everything, he gave Tapu Kaka some blessed water and performed some *Jharphuk* (exorcism-like rituals) and said, "I'll look into the matter and collect some information." Nothing else happened that night, but that night, groaning sounds were heard from around the house. It felt like someone was moaning and crying. That's how it was.

Anyway, the next day, the *Kaviraj* told a chilling story. The *Kaviraj* said that the one Tapu had killed was a Jinn (genie), but not one of the bad ones. However, the one Tapu killed was a very close relative of the Jinn's leader, which is why these Jinns are very angry with Tapu. And the Jinns have said that they will take Tapu to their land, where they will punish him, and they won't do anything to the other members of the family because they are not responsible. But if anyone stands in their way, trying to save Tapu, then they will kill them. After hearing this, everyone told the *Kaviraj* to do something.

Then, that medicine man (Kabiraj) said, "Okay, let me talk to them again tonight and see." The next morning, the medicine man came and said, "They will release Topu, but on one condition." Everyone asked, "What condition?" He said, "They are not asking for cows or goats." They said that after Topu gets married, they will take his first son. Although everyone was reluctant, they thought of Topu and agreed, saying, "Yes, okay, we agree. Let him live for now. Later, we can deal with it with a good Ojha (exorcist) or medicine man. There's still time for him to get married." Taking everyone's consent, the medicine man left, saying, "I will inform them that you agree." They replied, "Yes, okay, we agree. Remember, you have a deal with them now." The medicine man reminded them that once they make a deal with them, it cannot be broken, and they won't harm Topu anymore. Anyway, several years passed. Nothing happened to Topu, no paranormal events. Some years later, Topu got married, and everyone had forgotten about the incident. Two years after Topu's marriage, his first daughter was born. The child grew up completely normally. About a year and a half later, his first son was born. When the boy was three months old, one day he suddenly vanished from the house. Everyone searched everywhere but couldn't find him. Then everyone remembered the agreement, and they all went to that medicine man again for help.

So, the Kaviraj Dada (traditional healer) said okay, he would try to communicate at night. The next morning, Kaviraj Dada said that there was an agreement with those dwarves. According to that agreement, they have taken Tupu’s first son, and they will never give this boy back to you. They won't tell you whether they will kill the boy or keep him alive, or what they will do with him. They said they wouldn't give any information on this. All these years have passed, and despite much effort to get that child back, no one has been able to provide any information about whether that child is alive or dead, or what condition he is in. Tupu uncle has had two more sons later, and they are fine; they haven't had any problems with them. But the child that the dwarves took, about whom no information is available...Dear listeners, you tell me, the way Tupu uncle behaved with the dwarves was certainly not right. He ruthlessly killed a dwarf jinn, and as a result of that, they took one of Tupu uncle's sons in exchange. They didn't harm anyone else in the family. Blood for blood – they believe in this principle, and this is what they did. We don't know if Tupu uncle's son is still alive or dead. If he is alive, we don't know what condition he is in. And if he has died, then he has gone to the Creator. So, it's actually a tragic event.
