10 Horror Films Based on True Stories
A lot of movies these days say "based on a true story." The truth is, filmmakers often take some liberties with these stories, stretching truths or timeframes, changing and adding characters, or simply filling in gaps with artistic choices. All of these movies should be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, here are some of the most chilling horror films based on true stories. Many of them are, in fact, verified to be largely true. Others, if not certainly true, are at least based on enough factual, strange events to give you a chill down your spine.

For some this means pumpkin spice flavored drinks, for others this means designing their Halloween costumes, and for others, this means horror movie marathons. Halloween is the time that people are in the mood to be scared witless which is why they flock to haunted mazes, haunted hayrides, do seances, and dress up to scare other people.

Emily
The most beautiful smile I ever saw was the morning of Janelle's graduation. She was finally going to go to school with the big kids. See Janelle was about to turn 6 and will be starting grade 1 in the fall. She was wearing her 'fancy' dress; a beautiful, sea-foam-blue that bellows when you twirl; and her 'good' shoes; black Mary-Jane’s. Those are the ones we save for special occasions. Janelle was my little sister and we always played tea together whenever we found the time. This morning; however, we did not have the time.

As you've probably already read Part 1, you will know about what's going to happen in Part 2. If you don't, then here's a bit of a recap: we're going to go through 5 films you should watch to study horror filmmaking and make a quick little summary on what to look out for and why that film is particularly good to watch for study purposes. In the previous section you would've noticed films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre of 1974 turn up alongside Perfume: The Story of a Murderer. So, in this second part, we're going to take a bit of a different approach and have a look at some slightly stranger horror films, hopefully you will be familiar with nearly all of them.
