A Christmas Wish
Joey held his mother’s hand, even though she didn’t move. She didn’t open her eyes, didn’t make a sound except for the hiss of the machine that helped her breathe. He knew his time with her was almost over for the night, because his daddy didn’t want him to be scared. He didn’t know that Joey was always scared when he came to the hospital to see his mother. He was scared of the machines that beeped and blinked, and he was scared of the mean looking nurses who tried to be friendly but never smiled. He was scared every time he walked into his mother’s room and saw her lying on the bed with a tube sticking out of her mouth and her eyes taped shut. He knew it was his mother, and he knew it was the person who used to read him stories before bedtime and push him on the swings and fix peanut butter and banana sandwiches for him. But sometimes it didn’t seem like her. The person on the bed just seemed like a stranger he’d never known before.

Slender-Man Almost Got Me
One day my dad told me a scary story about this man-like creature called slender-man. He has no face and he has eight long arms that come out of his back. At first, I didn't believe him but after hearing a lot of different stories about the man-like creature, I started getting more & more into it. As I got older I heard a story about if you go into the bathroom and turn off the lights and say slender-man three times in the mirror, he will appear and come for you. Years later, I was 21. It was right after my 21st birthday. me and all my friends were messing around in the woods at 10 PM that night when we heard something behind the trees. "It's just animals," I said as we kept walking.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Dreamscape' (1984)
Dreamscape was the k-mart A Nightmare on Elm Street (ANOES) that was rushed to the theaters a couple moth before. So TECHNICALLY it predates ANOES, but in the same way Leviathan predates The Abyss. Back in the days, little studios would catch wind of what the big boys were doing and try to head them off at the pass with quicker productions and cheaper budgeting.

Payne of the Bite (Pt. 8)
"The underground facility could not withstand the incident at hand, because the physical display was merely a test of strength." The higher-ups in charge wanted to thoroughly dissect the losing combatant. The higher-ups are faced with the challenge of recreating what is now known as the "Manhunt Purge" after collecting the specimens from an underground facility. The force behind the magical sword made evil aware of its presence now that it was in Mr. Wick's possession. For the skilled assassin, the ideal strategy for stopping those responsible for the outbreak had begun to form. However, before the outbreak could end, the combat of the world's deadliest fighters dating back to 1494 would allow full closure to the testing the higher-ups projected to create again.“

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Event Horizon' (1997)
I've always wondered to myself why Event Horizon isn't higher on my list of top 10 horror movies. It's not that I don't firmly stand by my current position for it at #6. It's just that I never considered why it wasn't better as I haven't bothered to go back since I started reviewing movies. So, by this day, November the 13th, year of our lord 2019, eight years after having started my career as a movie critic, I returned to one of my all time favorite movies to give it a closer look.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Dr. Sleep' (2019)
"I say my name is Danny Boy and I like to drink at night. I go down to the pub, wherein I buy myself a pint or three. I like to go out drinking, 'cause beer it is my life, until I come home and lay eyes upon my darling wife!" ~Floater
