"The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window." This horrifying story begins with 3 beautiful children, Mandy and Ruby just 4 years old and Thomas 5.
Mysteriously taken from their families and never seen again, i want you to imagine the worst possible death that could happen to a child and your probably not even close , On this fatefull night their innocence was lost forever.
On that night so long ago these children's screams were blood curdling and the cabin so far out in the woods that nobody would hear them, for 5 days and nights they were subjected to so much pain and suffering where death would be a release.
Their killer was a very tall framed man with a slight limp on his left leg, when he walked he dragged his foot which created an awful sound when he was close, after so much horror they faced each day the children began to fear that noise . On the 4th day of being captive ,Mandy listened as Thomas took his last breath, her screams were diminished by exhaustion , there was nothing more she could do but wait silently in fear, her little heart pounding so fast . The killer told each child just before they took their last breath , " I am your King you will bow to me or die."
On the night of their deaths an old candle flickered in the light breeze on the window sill, lighting up the room. First you can hear the sounds of children's laughter , even though the children never saw eachother in life they were together in spirit. The room filled with ghostly apparitions of Mandy , Thomas and Ruby as they played together, until............. the candle begins to flicker and the room becomes darker and darker with a tall shadow on the walls coming towards them, they scream in fear until they vanish.
The children appear on the anniversary of their death and seem to relive their fatal moments on earth before they vanish , like tortured souls that are unable to rest in peace.
Melody Sornster was a ghost writer who had been studying the case about the children's murder, she felt compelled to find out more, and planned a trip to the cabin. She continued to learn more and more about the killings.
When the police finally found the location it was too late, they surrounded the cabin preparing to shoot to kill if the suspect appeared but the priority was to find the missing children. The killer stormed out of the cabin waving an axe in the air that was dripping blood, they opened fire and he was shot several times, one bullet in his head right between his eyes. They searched the cabin calling to the children but what they found made them so sick to their stomaches, 3 innocent little lives were taken away so tragically, it was a sight nobody should ever have to see.
Melody pulled up to the tiny cabin she felt a sense of relief..... almost as if someone was waiting for her to arrive, as she went to enter through the old door with bullet holes, her nose filled with a horrible smell that she didnt recognise , the door slammed shut so hard , the day almost turned into night, someone did not want her to enter.
She was determined to stay and waited in her car until it all stopped. As she was reading more about the case she fell asleep and woke with a fright realising it was dark. After a few moments she saw the candle flicker in the window and 3 apparitions looking at her almost in a pleading way to help them.
After learning all she had about the case she came to her own conclusions and believed that as the killer held the children captive in life , he still has power over their little souls in death , she knew what she had to do.
She prepared the equipment she had purchased on the way with full intent of making sure this horrible cabin with its sinister contents had to go, she used a can of petrol and began to pour it everywhere around the cabin until she was ready with a box of matches. She saw the ghostly apparition of a tall man who looked very much like the pictures she had seen of the killer and knew she had made him angry but it was too late , the tiny cabin was engulfed in flames.
As Melody watched she saw the spirits of the little children rise from the window and finally were free to leave the cabin, as they left Melody felt a cold tingle on her hand and there was a small hand touching hers, then giggles as they were finally set free.
Melody felt so relieved that she helped the children find peace, she knew her work was done and as she returned to her car a piece of the fire that burnt so fiercely hit her car, she was on fire screaming and screaming .
They say if you go into the woods where the cabin burnt down you can still see a flickering of what looks like a candle in the ruins.
