Now she was certain she was going to hell. Naomi Parker was in the game and couldn’t get out of it. It started on the cliffs and with a prayer sent to the heavens that was answered. An angel appeared and gave her a deal, simply stating that Naomi only had to do God's work. All she needed was a little money to get her back on her feet. Whatever she did that black book seemed to follow her. With every haunting turn, the pages would take their toll. She didn’t want to play anymore. 20,000 dollars seemed like so much at the time and she was told that she was doing God’s work. Little did she know, accepting equaled her life changing forever.
The first life she took was simple enough. His name was Leo Davis and all she did was cut the brakes on his car. The book told Naomi that he had killed a kid with that car. It seemed like God’s work. The next two kills the book had the same explanation. That the people themselves were monsters. That was the explanation that she told herself. She had made a deal with an angel after all, what could go wrong with that?
Day in and day out the book continued to fill with more names. After the first few days, there were no explanations for the kills. So, Naomi didn’t do it anymore. She stopped playing and at that moment she started rotting from the inside out. Losing weight, hair falling out and her veins becoming black in color. She knew it was the book’s fault. Naomi killed again, knowing she had no other options if she didn't want to die.
She had finally had enough. Yelling into the black abyss overhanging the cliff where it had all started,
“I’m done angel! I don’t want to play anymore!”
The air rushed around producing once again the angelic creature.
“Do you have the 20,000 dollars to pay to the book?” The angel said in a small voice.
Turning around, Naomi is met face to face with the angelic being.
“No, I started my life again. I rented a nice house and paid off my debt. I got to point in my life that I wasn't feeling like I was drowning anymore. But I can't kill anymore.” Naomi said with tears in her eyes.
The angel seemed to start to grow and the world seemed to get darker “That is the only way to get out of this. Pay back the 20,000 dollars into the book.”
Hysterically Naomi screamed “I don’t have it! I just don’t want to have to kill anymore!”
At that point the angelic creature had morphed into a monster. Her willowy body like a skeleton and black eyes. The monster smirked. “There is only one other thing to do now then.”
Stepping forward the monster pushed Naomi off the cliff. Hearing the sickening crunch of her bones at the bottom of the cliff. The monster then transformed herself into a beautiful women. Picking up the book from where Naomi had dropped it. Dusting off the cover.
The monster's God will be pleased with how well this game is going for them. Collecting innocent souls seem to get easier with the growing greed of humanity.
