Ghostly Inhabitants of Sweden
The spookiest places in the Land of the Midnight Sun

Most Haunted Place
In the northwestern Jämtland region, you'll find a tiny village called Borgvattnet. What would you say if there might possibly be more ghosts residing here per capita than people? That is if the rumors about the ghostly happenings at the vicarage are true and it really is the most haunted spot in the country. Mysterious sightings began in 1927 and have continued through the years. At the vicarage people have heard footsteps and seen no one, people have been knocked out of rocking chairs, and furniture has been moved about.
Today the vicarage is a bed and breakfast and visitors and ghosts live side by side. Do give this bed and breakfast a try you'll enjoy yourself and do be prepared to see shadow people, hear a woman screaming, someone crying, oh, yes, and a Madonna appears in one mirror. Interested? People who are willing to spend the night receive an "overnight-stay-certificate" in honor of their bravery and to let others know they did it
The Ghost Train

If you happen to be traveling about Stockholm and stand waiting for a train at one of the metro stops don't get aboard a silver train slowly going by. This train is known as the Silver Arrow and it goes to an abandoned station in the middle of a forest. With it, the train carries the souls of the dead so if anyone boards this train they are never coming back again. Along the city's blue line the Silver Arrow only makes a stop at the Kymlinge Station which is located north of Stockholm and this is where the ghosts get off. This may or may not be true but it is scary enough to make anyone aware of a silver train.
The Kymlinge Station was built in the 1970s but was never completed and has become a favorite venue for urban explorers. The Silver Arrow was a prototype train built of aluminium and used in the Stockholm underground from 1966 to 1996. Most of the train cars were scrapped but there are some remaining and can be found in museums and according to ghostly reports also on the blue line. So beware of the Silver Arrow that takes you to the land of the dead.

An unforgettable event in the Medieval history of Stockholm was the Stockholm Bloodbath. The tragic and gruesome event happened after Danish King Kristian II invaded Sweden in 1520. At this time 52 members of the Swedish nobility who supported the opposition were beheaded or hanged in the Main Square of the Old Town.
Up to the present time on the nights from November 7th to 9th you can see their blood flowing over the cobblestones of the square. It is said that in the red building on the right of the square there are 92 white stones representing those tragically slain nearly 500 years ago and if anyone should ever remove even one white stone the ghost of the individual represented will rise from the grave and haunt the streets of Stockholm.

Instead to get revenge against his daughter's love affair he arranged a marriage between the girl and a man who was much older. Matts was so grief-stricken that he took his own life.
