Final Destination....🤔🤔🤔🤔
With Halloween days away, I couldn’t resist running down a list of some of my favorite “horror” films. After an extensive search of what to watch, me being more of a series person, I was more willing to dive back into Final Destination to see some of my movie baes. IE: Kerr Smith, who we recognize as the Kyle Brody from Charmed, Devon Sawa who we also know from some of our favorite movies like Now and Then and Casper, and of course, Sean William Scott, the jackass from American Pie(but he’s still fine though. Peridot!). I watched the movie, and though I loved it as a kid, there was something(s) that really pissed me off. Let’s get into it.
1. So...are we gonna act like we didn’t insert the Candyman in here and use him as...”death’s advisor”? Miss me with the Tom Foolery. So, Kate and Alex have a conversation with them, and he seems to be on their side, in a weird and creepy way. He works in the morgue, knows exactly who they are, and he seems...eerily interested in not just “helping” them but confusing them when he ATTEMPTS to tell them about Death’s design and how it can be altered. Ok, BUT HOW? Following the signs and patterns did not REALLY save these people.
2. Lord knows I love me some Sean William Scott, but why the hell was he ALWAYS riding a bike like the town paperboy?! Give this grown ass man a car, somebody, anybody. But he didn’t deserve to die. He was stupidly sweet lol.
3. Kate and Alex? Relationship was forced ASH! She had been pining after him all those years to finally get him after a freak accident. If love works that way, KEEP IT, CUPID!
4. At the very end, we’re led to believe that Alex is killed only to find out in the second movie that he died six months after Kerr in Paris. 🤔🤔🤔 seems a little plot holey to me.
5. Speaking of which, where did the visions even come from? I’m supposed to believe that Alex was “woke” enough to receive visions of death but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t stop people from dying?! Make👏🏽It👏🏽Make👏🏽Sense! They never truly figured out Death’s design, and wth happened the the Candyman after the second movie? The franchise decided to move from the Mt. Abram city and move to other parts of the world...but after movie two, everyone is dead EXCEPT two people from the second movie. But no one ever contacts them for help?
6. Other than 180 being the flight number and such, it appears in every movie. It makes me wonder if it had something to do with life always coming back around halfway. You live a little then die type of deal?
7. Where the hell were everyone’s parents? Lol only George’s parents were in the whole movie. 😂😂Kerr was rich and we never saw his parents one damn time.
Needless to say, the movie is full of ups and downs but it remains to be the BEST of all the movies. It’s the only one I could really grow an attachment to the people. For some reason, Death likes to mess with kids and I AM NOT HERE FOR IT.
So on the scary meter, it ranks a 5. It isn’t so scary as it’s suspenseful. Some of the deaths were terrible though! Todd got strangled and that hurt me. He lost his brother and then got strangled too. Why was Death so creatively killing them off? Sean got hit by a damn train, right after telling Kerr he was gonna be next 😐😐😐. Kerr gets killed in Paris. His girlfriend gets splattered by a bus(which seems to be a repetitive theme).
Listen, the movie is good, but if you watch it you’ll have to watch the others to appreciate how after this one...the rest just started to fall apart lol .
