Edward Warren Miney and Lorraine Rita Warren are better known to us as Ed and Lorraine. Edward was born on September 7, 1926, died on August 23, 2006 and Lorraine was born on January 31, 1927, died on April 18, 2019. They are two investigators, researchers of paranormal phenomena and authors of books about prominent haunted cases.

Edward was a World War II United States Navy veteran and former police officer. After educating himself on demonology, he became an author and lecturer. His wife Lorraine, a self-proclaimed psychic and medium, works with her husband. Together, the Warrens became associated with some of the most famous psychic investigations of the second half of the 20th century. In 1952, they founded the New England Society for Neuralistic Research (NESPR), known as the oldest ghost hunting group in New England. The couple even opened a paranormal museum in their home in Connecticut to display artifacts from their famous investigations.

Not only that, some famous cases were also brought to the big screen through the horror film universe The Conjuring with the opening of the movie The Conjuring or with the Vietnamese title of The Conjuring released in 2013. Directed by James Wan, it tells the story of the incident that happened to the Perron family

The Perron family consists of 7 people with father Roger Perron, mother Carolyn Perron and 5 daughters.

In January 1971, they moved to a farm in Harrisville, Rhode Island (USA). The place they live in is a 14-room house and a large farm that has belonged to the family for eight generations. This place is also known as a place where many deaths of children have occurred due to suicide, drowning, or even murder.

The most terrible crime that happened here is said to have been committed by a woman named Bathsheba Sherman. The locals believe that Bathsheba was a witch, and that she killed a baby by sticking a sewing needle into the child's brain. After her death, Bathsheba and other spirits are said to be trapped around the house.

And when the Perron family moved in, they immediately experienced strange things

At first, Ms. Carolyn noticed that objects were missing one after another, or moving from one place to another, and dirt often suddenly appeared on the floor even though she had just cleaned it up before.

Things don't stop there, every early morning, the house smells of rot and makes strange sounds.

At the same time, the daughters also begin to notice that their house is haunted by ghosts. At first, those signals are quite harmless. However, the actions become increasingly unpleasant to the point of being scary

One time, Ms. Carolyn felt a sharp pain in her leg and discovered a wound that looked like being pricked by a needle. Her daughter even witnessed the bed flying off the floor.

In addition, when approaching the door to the basement, they also feel creepy, so they try to limit the use of the basement. However, because the heater often broke down unusually, Mr. Roger had to go to the basement to fix it. He also said that every time he went to the basement, he felt a cold presence and a foul smell behind him, but when he turned back, he saw nothing.

Also because of unusual things happening, the Perron family went to many psychics and exorcists, but they all shook their heads and left. Finally, they asked the couple Ed and Lorraine Warren

During more than 10 years of investigation, Ed and Lorraine conducted many studies and seances to prove that this place was truly haunted.

At that time, the Perron family believed that it was the spirit of Bathsheba that was tormenting their family. Bathsheba Sherman was a real woman who lived on the property in the 1800s. She was rumored to be a Satanist and there is evidence that she was involved in the death of a child. neighbor's children, even though no trial has yet taken place. There are also rumors that she is a witch and specializes in kidnapping nearby children to sacrifice to the devil

After the séance, Mr. Roger took the Warren couple out of the house because he was worried about his wife's mental stability.

Later, while staying in the house, Andrea also learned about the 8-generation family and the terrible murders that had happened before. Most of them are about missing children, some drowned in a nearby creek, some were murdered, and some ended their lives in the most painful ways.

However, at that time they still had to live in the house due to financial instability. It was not until 1980 that they were able to move elsewhere. The moment they moved out, another family immediately moved in. These people also reported encountering supernatural and strange events.

Specifically, they heard many loud banging sounds in the walls and on the ceiling. The carpets are also constantly stained and many scratches appear constantly throughout the house.

Later, when the terrifying movie was released, Andrea also said that almost everything that happened in the movie happened and was even partially reduced.

The mysterious events surrounding the haunted house in the town of Harrisville have shocked the American media for a long time, and until now no answers have been found.
