U.S. Space Force was established Dec. 20, 2019 when the National Defense Authorization Act was signed into law (with bi-partisan support), creating the first new branch of the armed services in 73 years. The establishment of the USSF resulted from widespread recognition that Space was a national security imperative. When combined with the growing threat posed by near-peer competitors in space,it became clear there was a need for a military service focused solely on pursuing superiority in the space domain.
the last 60 years space capabilities have become essential to the way a modern military conducts operations. Investments in space capabilities have increased the effectiveness of operations in every other domain. The U.S. military is faster, better connected, more informed, precise, and lethal because of space.
The same premise—that space is critical—holds true for the average American; space capabilities are woven into the fabric of daily life. Satellites connect people in every corner of the globe, monitor weather patterns, carry television broadcasts, and the timing and navigation services of the GPS constellation power global financial networks, enable international commerce, synchronize cell phone networks, and optimize critical infrastructure.
so space is important for our national security, for our way of life, and for our international Allies in the western hemisphere and democracies around the world that rely on American strength and military power to protect them.
‘Besides protecting our assets in space, like satellites and the international space station, the space force would also attack and disable hostile space craft that are deployed by our enemies to destroy the I.S.S. and satellites or attack our military on earth and and vice versa during a war between the U.S. and a hostile nation on earth. The space force has been in existence in some form or another since 1952. States Space Force traces its origins to the Air Force, Army, and Navy's military space programs created during the beginning of the Cold War. US military space forces first participated in combat operations during the Vietnam War and have participated in every U.S. military operation since, most notably in the Persian Gulf War, which has been referred to as the "first space war." The Strategic Defense Initiative and creation of Air Force Space Command in the 1980s marked a renaissance for military space operations.
The space force also maintains earth bound facilities such as the missile warning radar at Pituffik Space Base, Greenland.
Global mission operations integrates joint functions across all domains (land, air, maritime, space, cyberspace) on a global space. Through space, the U.S. military and its allies can see, communicate, and navigate. Global mission operations also protect U.S. forces on Earth through early warning of incoming missiles and other types of attack. The Space Force describes global mission operations as allowing the rest of the U.S. military to defend the air, land, and sea.
Missions that support global mission operations include missile warning, satellite communications, and positioning, navigation, and timing.
USSF space access is with Falcon Heavy launch from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Assured space access ensures that the Space Force can deploy and sustain equipment in outer space. This includes space launches as well as controlling and steering spacecraft out of the way of oncoming space debris to avoid collisions. The Space Force describes assured access to space as being able to make sure it can continue launching and conducting space operations 24/7.
we, the public, don’t hear about it, but the defense department plays war games all the, to train our military and test that our weapons and systems work, as well as make sure inter departments work together seamlessly For when we do go to war against an enemy or when our country gets attacked. And now the space force will be added in those war games, adding a whole new dimension to those games. I think we will find out just how important the USSF really is.
In a war game scenario, 3 of the navy submarines slip out of their berths and go into positions around the world, and fire ballistic missiles towards North America to simulate an EMP (electo Magnetic Pulse) attack against 3 major cities in the U.S. They would be set to explode 250 miles above the cities and shut down the power grid, computers, the internet, and all our infrastructure such as cell phone coverage, water supply, financial infrastructure and so much more. That would disable the country, and leave us vulnerable to attack. In Greenland, at Petuffik Space Base, our early warning monitoring systems manned by space force officers leap into action, alert all the military agencies about the situation, and give all the information they have on the simmulated attack. Then they communicated with satellites orbiting the earth which have laser weapons installed, and shoot down the 3 incoming missiles. Successfully. Computers backtrack where the missiles were launched from, locate the submarines, and the same lasers pinged the submarines and report that they have successfully destroyed the attacking submarines. Sattelite imagery is sent to the officers in charge of the war game and the submarines are seen as they surface, proving that space force was successful.
almost at the same time, satellite killer satellites posing as enemy satellites start attacking space force assets, which include the International Space Station military addition, which houses computers, telescopes, laser weapons, and also shuttles and space crafts, and 30 member personnel, as well as communication satellites, GPS satelites, internet satellites, all of which are orbiting all around the earth. The space force sattellittes go into action, and track the enemy satellites, their hostile actions, and quickly ping the satellites, which means they have been neutralized. Another win for Space Force.
‘The games go on, fine tuning the equipment, systems, the weapons, and the interaction between the different forces, Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as the intelligence agencies such as NSA, CIA and others. Each game is analyzed and after game reports are issued and studied so that they can be improved and corrected.
They stand ready, every day, “Always Above.”
