One day, Islam's second caliph, Umar ibn al-Katab (RA) in California, passed through the city of Medina. When they went, they came across an older woman sitting on the side of the road, looking very sad and desperate. When Umar (ra) saw her, he gently approached: "Why are you sitting here alone, an old lady? What worries you? "

The woman with a voice filled with sadness explained her emergency. She said, "I am a widow. My husband fought in the Battle of Uhodo and was Marty. My son also went to fight Islam, but I hadn't heard from him for a long time. I have no way to support myself. There's nothing more. "

Umar (ra) was deeply moved by her words. He looked at her with compassion, and said, "Don't worry. I will make sure you can help. "However, Umar (RA) is unable to provide immediate help and has promised to return to her later with her help.

Umar (RA) went to the market and gathered food, clothing and other necessary supplies with his own hands. Despite his high position as Kalip, Umar (RA) does not allow his position to forget the importance of humility and service to others. He knew that his role as a leader in the Muslim community was to serve people rather than seeking power or personal interests.

After Umar (RA) gathered the supplies she needed, she returned to the woman's house. When he arrived, he was still sitting in the same place. Umar (ra) approached her and kindly gave her the food, clothes and other objects he had gathered for her. The woman said in surprise, Umar (ra.) replied with a smile: "I am Umar ibn al-Khatab, a Muslim caliph."

The woman who heard this was even more surprising. She couldn't believe that the Caliph had come to help her. She immediately raised her hand in prayer and replied, "Allah, I bless this man, and I will reward him for his goodness. Allah may succeed in this world and in the future."

Umar (ra.) replied: "I will do only what Islam has taught me. As Muslims, we are instructed to help the poor, regardless of their background. Our prosperity, our strength, and our status are not in our own interests. They should be used in the service of others and please Allah. "

After giving her supplies, Umar (ra.) lost her home in a heart that was grateful to Allah.
