The story of the Queen of Alberdine

In a small kingdom called Alberdine, there lived a girl named Bathilde. Bathilde was always sad, struggling to find friendship and acceptance. From a young age, she found it difficult to belong, unaware of the adventures and wonders that fate had in store for her.

Bathilde: I just don’t understand!
Faye: What don’t you understand?
Bathilde: The girls in the castle, with their fancy bags full of money, their wavy hair, manicured nails, and charming smiles. Why can't I be like them?

Faye: Are you talking about Kinsey and Whitney?
Bathilde: Yes, Kinsey, Whitney, and Riley.

They never stop tormenting me. They mock me, belittle me because of how I look. It's so unfair!

Faye: Calm down, Bathilde. Kinsey is the daughter of the king’s chamberlain; she wouldn’t hurt a fly. As for Whitney, her mother used to work at the mills before Commander Harkness ascended the throne. Riley might be the most mischievous of them, but I think you might be wrong.

Bathilde: No! Two days before my birthday, I was summoned to the castle to renew my allegiance to the king. I only had one coin left after my mother left me to work at the House of Records. When I climbed the golden stairs to the royal office, I could hear them laughing nearby.

Faye: And then what happened?

Bathilde: Kinsey was the first to speak... (Flashback)
Kinsey: Haha, you, the princess of the cow barns! Do you think it’s acceptable to dirty our carpet with the mud from your shoes? And what’s in your bag, a cow pie?

Bathilde: Then Whitney joined in…
Whitney: Trim those nails, Bathilde. Oh wait, I forgot, you can’t. Hahaha!

Bathilde: And then Riley, the harshest of them all…
Riley: Weren't you just rolling around in the hay with that frizzy hair of yours?

Bathilde: Leave me alone! I just came to renew my loyalty to my lord and then be on my way.
Kinsey: And where is your way? To the cow farm?
Riley: Or maybe to the haystack!

Bathilde: Leave me alone!

The castle girls were known for their cruelty, but their harshness intensified when it came to Bathilde.

Whitney: Why don't you just head to the enchanted forest and leave us alone for a while?

Aldrich, Commander Harkness’s son: Leave her alone!

(Bathilde walks away crying, and the flashback ends)

Bathilde: That's why I'm here now.

Faye: I'm really so sor... (Bathilde interrupts)

Bathilde: Please, I don’t want your pity.

Faye: Then how about we play a game? I know you like games...

(Bathilde interrupts her again)

Bathilde: I don’t want games. My only wish is to look in the mirror and smile; to have hair, a smile, and a gaze like theirs. I want to be a queen.

Faye: Speaking of kings, there are rumors that our king doesn’t deserve the throne of Alberdine, but rather a queen from Queen Baldona’s lineage!

Bathilde: But he’s a good king. Maybe those rumors aren’t true.

Faye: I don’t know. Let’s go somewhere else, not the enchanted forest. Where do you want to go?

Bathilde: To the Records House. “The Records House”; she said, convinced that a glimpse of her mother’s face would be enough to lift her spirits.

Faye: That’s impossible! Your mother is the only one allowed to be there.

Bathilde: I know that.

Faye: And if you get caught, you’ll be thrown into the castle dungeons where King Leon has imprisoned all the countless forest beasts.

Bathilde: I know.

Faye: You’re so stubborn! If you’re willing to take that risk, that’s your decision, but remember, I warned you.

Bathilde: I know. (Faye walks away, and we transition to the next scene, outside the Records House where a guard is standing at the door)
Bathilde: Good morning.

Guard: What’s the matter?
