The Mysterious Guest
In a small village surrounded by lush green fields and flowing rivers, the people were known for their hospitality. Travelers who passed through were always welcomed with food and a place to rest.
A Village of Generosity
In a small village surrounded by lush green fields and flowing rivers, the people were known for their hospitality. Travelers who passed through were always welcomed with food and a place to rest.
Among the villagers lived a kind and pious man named Mustafa. He was a simple farmer who worked hard during the day and spent his evenings in prayer and remembrance of Allah.
As Mustafa was finishing his Maghrib prayer one evening, someone knocked on his door. When he opened it, he saw a tired traveler—a man with a long beard, dust-covered clothes, and eyes filled with wisdom.
“As-salamu alaykum, dear brother,” the traveler greeted. “I have been walking for days. May I find shelter in your home for the night?”
Without hesitation, Mustafa smiled and said, “Wa alaykum as-salam! Please enter. You are my very special guest. A Simple Meal, A Big Heart
Bread, dates, and milk made up Mustafa's straightforward meal. As they ate, the traveler asked, “Tell me, my friend, do you always welcome strangers into your home?”
Mustafa's response was, "Of course! The Prophet (ﷺ) taught us that a true believer honors his guest.”
The traveler nodded and smiled. Later that night, Mustafa prepared a warm place for the traveler to sleep. Before going to bed, he whispered a dua, “O Allah, bless this guest and make me a better servant of Yours.”
The Stranger’s Request
The next morning, as the traveler prepared to leave, he turned to Mustafa and said, “You have shown great kindness. But I have a request.”
“Anything, dear guest,” Mustafa replied.
The traveler held out a small pouch of gold coins. “Take this as a gift for your generosity.”
Mustafa shook his head. “I did not help you for a reward. I only complied with Allah's commands. The traveler’s eyes gleamed. “But what if I told you I am not just a traveler?”
Mustafa, perplexed, frowned. “Then who are you?”
The traveler took a deep breath and said, “I am a servant of the Sultan. He sent me to find the most generous man in the land. And you, Mustafa, have proven to be that man.”
Mustafa was stunned. “But I am only a simple farmer…”
The traveler described him as "a simple farmer with a heart purer than gold." "The Sultan wants to thank you for being kind. He invites you to his palace.”
A Test of the Heart
Mustafa hesitated. “I do not need wealth. My happiness comes from serving Allah.”
The traveler nodded. “And that is why you deserve this blessing.”
After much thought, Mustafa agreed to visit the palace, not for wealth, but to meet the Sultan and thank him for his kindness.
When he arrived, the Sultan greeted him warmly. Mustafa, you truly are a rare spirit. I offer you land, gold, and a high position in my court.”
Mustafa bowed his head. “O Sultan, I am honored. But I do not seek riches. If you wish to reward me, then help my village. Build a well for clean water. Donate to the orphans. That will be my true reward.”
The Sultan was moved by Mustafa’s humility. I've learned something from you today. Indeed, the richest man is the one who gives the most.”
Therefore, the Sultan directed the construction of wells, the provision of food, and the establishment of schools in Mustafa's village. A Legacy of Kindness
Mustafa returned home, not as a wealthy man, but as a legend. His village flourished, and his kindness became an inspiration for generations.
And so, Mustafa’s name was remembered—not as a man who gained riches, but as a man who gave without expecting anything in return.
Moral of the Story:
True generosity expects no reward.
A kind heart is more valuable than gold.
Giving back to the community brings more blessings than anything else can.
