Honest Century: Unused Treasures of Ottoman Soldiers

It was 1915, during the mid-World War I. The world was in chaos, the nation was at war, and life was uncertain.

In 1915, during World War I, as the Ottoman army was withdrawing from the war, an Ottoman soldier left his savings with Palestinian businessman Rageb Hilmi al-Halul. As he left, he said only, "I am leaving this money, I will return and take it."

But the soldier never returned.

Responsibility for generations.

Years passed, and the soldiers never returned. Time continued, and the Impile fell, and the border changed, but Ragev Hirmi al-Harul never forgot his promise. He had the banknotes, hoping that their legal owner or his family would return one day to claim them. But no one came.

In 1968, Al Harl died, leaving not only his business but also his unused money liability. His son, Lagev Abdullah al-Harul, inherited both his father's values and his sacred trust in his family. He also protected the money and was waiting for a legal owner. Decades have passed, but no one answered.

From 2010, the world has been changing beyond perception. The Ottoman Empire was long, with maps of the Middle East being rebooted several times, and people remembered little of the war. But one thing remained the same - the integrity of the Haruru family.

realised that the legitimate owner could still be there, and Lagev Abdullah al-Harul made the public and requested someone to request money from the soldiers. But the silence continued again.

Seduction and Unshakable Completeness

At that time, collectors and historians were fascinated by history. The completely preserved rare Ottoman banknotes have become treasure worth almost 29,000 US dollars. Many wealthy collectors and auction houses approached the Haruru family and offered large sums to buy notes.

Money can change your life if it is difficult to put effort into the benefit of a family that lived a simple life. However, they rejected all offers. Her answers remained immediately:

"This money is not ours; the owner or his legitimate descendants must assert it."

In a world where honesty is often covered by greed, her integrity remained intact.

Lessons we have learned. It's about the timeless value of integrity, responsibility and trust.

1. Honesty is inheritance.

The Haruru family could have easily taken away money for themselves. Who knew? But they choose the truth about seduction and prove that sincerity is not just about what they do when people are there. Promise is more valuable than prosperity. A simple promise that shaped the value of the whole family for a century in 1915. In a world where promises are easily broken, this story reminds us that a person's words are worth more than any happiness.

2. Honesty is a choice, and even in difficult times, it is easy to be honest if there is nothing to lose. But if we are facing a life-changing offer, do we still choose integrity? The Halul family did that, showing that the true characters weren't announced in simple times, but were revealed at difficult times.

3. The power of a good name

in a person's assets can disappear, but their reputation will last forever. The integrity of the Halul family gave them something more valuable than money - a name that has been respected for generations.

4. Some trust is holy.

The Ottoman soldiers may have been lost throughout history, but his trust in the Halul family was respected beyond what he could have imagined. Some trust tells us that it should not break - no matter how long it takes, they should be protected.

Stories that Influence the World.

When people hear this story today, they are full of adoration. When personal interests often come to priority, the Halul family is an illustrious example of how integrity can be maintained, even if the world around them changes. Perhaps one day the legitimate legacy of Ottoman soldiers will advance and the banknotes will be recaptured. Or maybe you never do that. But regardless of the outcome, the lesson is retained:

The asset has faded, but integrity takes forever.
