Celebrated on October 6, 2022, Instagram's 12th birthday has grown to be a worldwide phenomenon influencing the current likes obsession. Although many people have no clue how Instagram came to be, it is important to keep in mind that alumni of Stanford University started it.

Born in Holliston, Massachusetts, in a rich household in 1983, Stanford University student Kevin Systrom was While his father served President of Human Resources for the American retail company TGX, his mother worked in marketing.

Systrom enrolled at Stanford University after becoming well-known for his programming abilities, where he kept heavily studying computer science. But the institution provided too much theory instead of actual experience, which resulted in a dearth of useful knowledge.

At last Systrom turned to study management, when the idea of starting a company struck him.

Systrom had a strong passion in photography throughout his college years and even enrolled in temporary courses in Italy when he came across the low-cost Holga camera, designed in Hong Kong since the 1980s. Instagram was inspired to be established by this technical wonder producing tiny square photographs with captivating effects. Drawn in a student for just 45 minutes, the first symbol stayed in place for over six years and had a Polaroid on it.

Applying for the Mayfield Fellows program, Systrom, a third-year student, met Mark Zuckerberg and was offered to join the initiative. Kevin was chosen by Mayfield Fellows to produce a podcast during a four-month fellowship under Audio. Systrom was inspired by this internship, and Odio helped him to make first meaningful connections in the high tech industry. Two years later, the well-known Twitter started using audio.

Kevin Systrom, the creator of Instagram, was born into a rich family in Hollaston, Massachusetts, in 1983. Although the university's focus on theory over experience first upset him, he finally turned to study management and photography. Instagram's roots are in the Holga camera and audio; now, millions of individuals utilize the site for company promotion and communication among other uses.

Originally a 2006 graduate of Stanford University, Kevin Systrom departed Google after three years of employment. Having left Google and worked on Foursquare, he decided to design his own software. Sistrum developed a prototype called Bourbon in 2009 that included all four squares functionality - including sharing pictures from events and point-earning capability. Steve Anderson, a venture investor, made $250,000 investments in the project but subsequently insisted on locating another company partner to enable it remain financially viable.

Both recent grads from Stanford University, Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger started working together on Instagram. The idea of the app was straightforward: users could quickly share amazing pictures to pals. Inspired by the terms "instant telegram," the program was called Instagram and debuted on October 6, 2010.

The release matched the arrival of the iPhone 4 on June 7, 2010, featuring a high-performance camera and a high-resolution screen. The users of the Apple Phone know how to make use of pictures and cameras nowadays. But the little Instagram server fell under traffic load, so the app crashed and needed constant restarting. The squad smashed their fingers out of terror, but the scent of victory and the thought that they struck the jackpot motivated them on.

With the app downloaded about 100,000 times in one day, Instagram ranked first among the most often used free applications for the iPhone. The total downloads in one week exceeded 1,000,000 mark. The biggest difficulty the programmers encountered was the servers' continuous struggle with their own reset. With the amount of downloads surpassing several million and the servers operating almost daily, they were able to live with the problem for over a year.

The team visited Amazon's headquarters in order to solve this problem and worked on enhancing the app. They created vintage filters that could transform amateur images into striking images and a hashtag system to help one locate images. Fans all over may alter images with vintage effects like Hefe X Pro 2 nowadays.

The app already has over 100 million submitted pictures in July 2011. Instagram's growth was so astounding that in July 2011 it already had over 100 million pictures submitted.

Instagram originally showed up on April 3rd of 2012 on the Android App Store after attaining 30 million users. Mark Zuckerberg said that Facebook received 700 million of the 1 billion dollar Instagram acquisition he revealed. The app's lack of income at the time of purchase suggests that Zuckerberg's acquisition was not haphazard. While the whole crew relocated to the Facebook headquarters under Kevin Systrom's direction, Kevin Systrom and Mark Krieger stayed on at Instagram.

2015 saw the app include backlinks to marketers' websites as well as advertising inserts including images and videos. In the first quarter of 2006, Instagram's advertising income already amounted to $573 million. Theme equal ten percent of Facebook's total income. Bloomberg released statistics from its own analytics on June 26, 2018, showing that, should Instagram have stayed an independent business, its valuation by now may have approached 100 billion dollars, 100 times the sum paid by Zuckerberg six years earlier.

Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger said on September 25, 2018, they were quitting the Instagram team at face value. The choice resulted from mounting conflict in their commercial relationship with Zuckerberg. Systrom said in November of that year that he and Krieger left for different reasons but withheld any specifics.

Celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber, and Selena Gomez have three times as many followers on Instagram as the US population, so the social network has evolved into a window into their life. Many individuals now broadcast themselves multiple times a day and avidly watch the responses of their followers, so the phrase "selfie" has become the standard.

Instagram has fundamentally changed our lives, altering our communication, view of the world, consumption of products and knowledge, and everyday behavior. Kevin Systrom turned 39 in 2022 as a millionaire, and as such, he most certainly will surprise us with something fresh and unique
