Against the backdrop of an abandoned village longing for its glory days, Rossella Aquilanti, a determined 63-year-old farmer, and Maka Tounkara, a young refugee from Mali, have formed an extraordinary partnership that not only sustains their dreams but also offers a beacon of inspiration for others.

For decades, Calabria has suffered from crippling unemployment, driving countless young people away from their homes in search of opportunities elsewhere. Yet, amidst this bleak scenario, Rossella Aquilanti has managed to create her own paradise in Pentedattilo. With just 20 goats, a handful of olive trees, and the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings, she finds solace and contentment.

Rossella's path intertwined with Maka's when he arrived in Italy as a refugee, seeking a chance to rebuild his life.
