Is Michael the man on the plane?

General Hospital spoilers promised a surprise guest at the Nurses Ball. They last did this in 2017, when Robin Scorpio Drake (Kimberly McCullough) returned from the dead to find her husband, Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), with Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo). Fans believe Michael Corinthos will be the mystery guest, but GH viewers don't know who will be in the role.

At the end of Tuesday's episode, a man on an airplane was watching the annual gala as Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), sporting a new short haircut, kissed Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison). The duo has no shame and is flaunting their relationship publicly, even though she is still Michael's wife.

Is Chad Duell returning or is there a recast?

Chad Duell's last scenes as Michael were at the beginning of the year, and he has not indicated that he is returning to the ABC soap. If the man on the plane is Michael, and Duell is not in the role, there would be a recast. Robert Adamson, who portrayed Noah Newman on The Young and the Restless, stepped in for Duell at least three times on short notice.

He posted online that he was not asked to do a table reading for the role, but took the post down. Fans have implied this to indicate that there was an actual reading for the role, but Adamson was left out. If he thought Duell was returning, he would not have had a reason to even think about a reading.

Could Rory Gibson be the new Michael?

Rumors spread quickly that Rory Gibson, who also portrayed Noah on Y&R, was following MacMullen and other General Hospital cast members on social media, and they were following him.

There have also been rumors about several unreliable soap spoilers, such as Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) returning to Port Charles and bringing his older brother back from the clinic. There is no basis for this, and the last time anyone saw Morgan was when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) talked to his spirit.

Michael could be the highlight of the ball

Michael will steal the show if he arrives at the ball, and Willow and Drew will be stunned. The Congressman has been on cloud nine since Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) snitched on Portia Robinson ( Brook Kerr) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

He gave Brad one million dollars to do one last favor for him and fans, now know it was to frame Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) by placing a vial of ketamine in her vehicle.

Drama across Port Charles

Michael will return to find his family in turmoil. Tracy was arrested as she was about to walk on the red carpet, so the ball started with a bang. Ned Ashton (Wally Kurth) said if his mother had drugged Drew, she would not have been caught, so he knows she is being framed.

Alexis Davis ( Nancy Lee Grahn) has just informed Kristina Corinthos Davis that Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) knows she cut the brake line on his vehicle. Michael's aunt and sister are in trouble, and Sasha Gilmore (Sophia Mattson) is trying to hide the fact that he is her baby daddy.

The highlight of the ball

Michael's return would be the highlight of the evening, unless, of course, Gio Palmieri (Giovani Maza) is revealed as the son of Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zampragna) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

With all this drama and chaos, perhaps Michael should get on the plane and return to Germany. Be sure you tune in the rest of the week to learn the identity of the man heading to Port Charles and what happens next at the General Hospital Nurses Ball.
