Will Holly and Diane have a Cat Fight over Robert on General Hospital?

The two women make formidable opponents but only one will win the heart of the DA.

DA Scorpio is the man in Port Charles

General Hospital fans are loving the chemistry between Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) age 76 and Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennessy) age 60 and anticipate what will happen in the near future. Their flirtation finally led to a kiss and they were about to celebrate their future with champagne when Diane was called to represent Drewain (Cameron Mathison) against the SCC charges.

When she returned to Robert's office the pricey lawyer caught him in a liplock with Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) age 62. It looks like there might be a love triangle which is sure to bring out the claws and neither Holly nor Diane is one to back down from a fight. Robert will enjoy the attention but eventually have to make a choice unless one of the women makes it for him.

Displaying love in the afternoon is tricky business

Displaying love scenes on screen with aging cast members can be tricky and a few months back fans of The Young and the Restless were disturbed because Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) age 69 and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) age 59 were shown in a state of undress. It was not that the duo was being romantic that viewers objected to but that the soap was showing so much skin on aging bodies. Growing older is a reality of life but when it comes to television and movies Hollywood has glorified youth and viewers have not become accustomed to seeing older actors age naturally on screen.

Hopefully, General Hospital will respect the actors in this most recent love triangle by not exposing them the way they do with the younger cast. When Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chaves) was shown in a towel a while back GH viewers marveled at how well-toned his body was compared to when he first returned to Port Charles. This is not about age discrimination but respecting the fact that aging bodies change and not having the actors do anything uncomfortable or that fans might find embarrassing to watch.

Holly might bow out of the competition

Sutton has said she is dealing with symptoms of long covid and cannot stand long or walk far but General Hospital has been working with her so that she could be part of the takedown of Victor Cassaddine (Charles Shaughnessy). This seems to imply that Holly will not be in Port Charles for a long time and suggests that at some point she and Robert will part ways. In the meantime, viewers will have fun watching as Diane battles with DA Scorpio and his ex-wife.

When these two women let their claws out there is certainly to be Cat Fight even though it might all be verbal. Holly is a trained spy who is good at being underhanded and Diane is an attorney who is sharp as a whip. They make formidable opponents and there will definitely be some must-see TV when they spar over Robert. On Wednesday's episode of General Hospital Diane will confront the DA about his kiss with his ex and demand to know what he is feeling. Spoilers say Robert will soon seek romantic advice and clearly he has conflicting emotions.

If Samms is about to leave the soap then either Holly or Robert will tell the other they should just be friends or it could be a mutual agreement. General Hospital viewers definitely want to see the DA and the Attorney explore their relationship and in the meantime, the drama between the two and Holly will no doubt be hilarious. Just because people grow older does not indicate that they no longer have conflict when it comes to romantic entanglements so stay tuned.

Another good article. But I have to disagree with you on the issue of showing aging skin. I find it upsetting that viewers are perfectly fine with (or even enjoy) seeing lots of young flesh but blanche when they see someone older showing a little skin. It perpetuates the belief that only certain body types are okay to be seen & that we should disdain all others, including/especially our own. Body dysmorphia is a big enough problem as it is without reinforcing it through daily soaps.
