WandaVision Finale: 10 questions still left unanswered
*Spoiler Alert*

WandaVision has intrigued me like few other shows ever have.
This might go against popular opinion, but the reason I enjoyed it so much is that it is so unique and different from the rest of the Marvel productions.
I loved watching all the films leading up to End Game and Far From Home, however, WandaVision was the perfect palate cleanser after all of the big-scale action and universe-wide threats. It was a smaller scope, where we could sit back and focus on the details. The plot was not progressing as fast as it usually did; Wanda's world was an island where time stood still, allowing us the time to ask questions and develop theories. Perhaps a lot of the fans were put off by this change of pace, but I found it refreshing.
As the episodes went on, the show became more and more like a typical Marvel movie, and I have to say it was a pretty smooth transition. We got introduced to S.W.O.R.D. and it opened up the multiverse, as well as many new characters who will feature during phase 4.
Whilst I liked the later episodes, I felt that towards the end the showrunners had to cram in a lot of action and find an ending point to a lot of plotlines, so much so that a lot of the things that were touched upon -were completely glossed over, and I don’t think they will hold enough importance to be revisited in future films.
This leaves my closure-needing brain utterly unsatisfied - despite having liked the ending of the show.
The only therapy I can provide for myself and for whoever else feels like they need answers is to elaborate on what’s left unanswered and offer my own theories.
Here are the 10 questions I still need an answer to:
1) Why all WestView residents were S.W.O.R.D. agents?
In episode 4, we see the agents in the facility recognizing a lot of their colleagues (notably excluding 'Agnes') in the WandaVision show. And that piece of information is just left there. Why were they there? Is WestView the S.W.O.R.D. agents' commuter town? Is that why Vision bought a property there? Were they previously there to investigate something? Or protect someone? This leads me to my next question...
2) What happened to the person in the witness protection program?
Jimmy Woo and Monica Rambeau discuss the fact that WestView was keeping someone in the witness protection program safe. Was it a red herring planted by Hayward? That would be a shame since I thought that could be one valid explanation as to why the town was crawling with S.W.O.R.D. agents. I thought it might be Dottie, who, having observed the magic done by Agatha and potentially her coven, was taken under protection in WestView and subsequently hunted down by Agatha.
3) Why was Dottie's blood red?
She is described as "the key to everything in this town". Well, she definitely wasn't, and it was a big letdown. I thought she would get to play a much bigger part in the series, especially because her red blood is the only colored element in the second episode, giving me Pleasantville vibes. Now, the other item in color was the toy helicopter sent by Monica, but the blood never gets explained. It was apparent that what was in color came from outside of Westview, so she surely could have must have not have been affected by the Hex in the same way as everyone else? She could have been the head of the witch coven, doing everything "for the children", to absorb their power. Now, that would have been cool. A lot of people also speculated she was a personification of Mephisto...
4) Why was Mephisto teased so much without even a cameo?
I know, I know, he's been at the center of all fan theories, and it never came true. I have to admit I didn't know much about the character from the comics, but having read about him, it just MAKES SENSE. The rabbit, Senor Scratchy aka. Mr. Scratch aka The Devil, This Ralph who never appeared, "Devil's in the details"..."That's not the only place he is".
The fly on the wall, the stork... Billy and Tommy being called demon spawn, suggesting that they were created with a fragment of Mephisto's soul... Let's just say I haven't lost hope! I might be going down with this ship but I don't care.
5) Who the f*&% is the aerospace engineer?
"I can't wait for y'all reactions," said actress Teyonah Parris. I'm still waiting. Look, I'm sure the lady who brought along that tank is very nice. What she isn't is someone who to my knowledge had appeared in any Marvel film and was meant to make our jaws drop. Again, it's fine not to have a cameo, but why ease it so much? We're already hooked on the show, you don't need to give us false hope.
6) What is Doctor Strange doing in all of this?!
Now for the questions of all questions. In the last episode, Wanda's power is said to exceed the one of the Sorcerer Supreme, and in the post-credit scene, we see her studying the Darkhold in the astral dimension. It all looks very Doctor Strange-y and so it should since she is going to be featured in his next film. Which begs the question, why isn't he showing up in WestView? His literal job is to protect our reality. He's not very good at it clearly?
7) Who is Cliff?
Another name gets dropped and the person is never shown. He's Jimmy Woo's friend in Quantico who is meant to arrive within the hour and help. Great job Cliff, you arrived and did nothing. To be honest with you, this might not have been that important to begin with - but at this point, I was so desperate for a cameo I was clutching to any lead I could find.
8) Who are the commercial actors?
They are obviously a product of Wanda's memory, as we see a lot of hints reminding us of the crucial moments in her life (the Stark toaster, the Hydra watch etc.) So who are these omnipresent actors? Someone speculated it might have been her parents, which could have been a good twist. Instead, they never get mentioned again and we are just to accept they were the same actors on a tv, spanning decades.
9) Why do sitcom eras change?
In episode 8, surprise surprise, we find out little Wanda was a big fan of sitcoms. Well I never would have guessed. We see a few extracts of different shows, and her watching them at different points in her life.
One question that's kept me up at night is : if Wanda liked the Dick Van Dyke Show so much why did she change sitcoms in chronological order? Surely if she just loved the genre and wanted to live a "sitcom life" she could have just created her own, or mixed her favorite elements from different sitcoms into one. Alternatively, she could have just stuck with the black and white 50s style.
Is it because her power grows, so do the CMBR, therefore getting a better signal, ad evolving as Television did? Is the reality she’s created working through her memory in chronological order via pop culture?
10) Is this the last we’ll see of Agatha?
Agatha got the punishment she deserved in my opinion, though is the mind control she is subjected to going to last after the Hex disappears? Is Wnada going to find her again and awaken her when she'll have more questions? In the comics, Agatha Harkness isn't always a villain, but rather a mentor to Wanda. We might see that side of her in future installments. Oh and finally find out who has transfigured into Senor Scratchy.
--------------
I don’t mean for it to come across as all critiques, after all the fact that it can spark so much discussion is a testament to a good series.
As I've said before, I wasn't disappointed by the ending, but I was disappointed at how the showrunners went for the most simple explanation (Ralph Bohner anyone? let's forget the fact that you cast Fox's QuickSilver).
What I’ve learned is to stop listening to actors' interviews, because they are only going to give me false hope, and to trust Marvel to unravel a lot more over their phase 4. This is just the beginning, hopefully.
