Top 5 imperfections of greys anatomy

1.Unnecessary deaths of characters

In 17 seasons of greys anatomy, we have been introduced to over 100s of characters, sometimes even with 0 or useless storyline. For example, when seattle grace and mercy west collided. They killed half of the interns and residents, i mean why bring in a character if you are going to kill it 2 episodes later ? Not only do they kill characters off quickly and unnecessarily but also they don’t give them a funeral. Before the character dies they potray the love other characters has for them, yet there’s no funeral ? I mean wouldn’t you want a funeral for your loved ones?

2. Excessive amounts of Unfortunate events

One of the things that angers me about this show is that everything has to go wrong, even during happy events. Weddings,pregnancies, yada yada yada you name it. Let’s talk about Meredith(Ellen Pompeo) grey, the star of the show. Her first pregnancy, had a miscarriage while operating on her best friends lover. And then after that, they kept trying and trying and trying. After a few episodes later they adopt a baby. At the end, they both were blessed with 2 more kids. Now let’s look at other characters,

April kepner, who also lost her first baby Samuel due to type two osteogenesis imperfecta, Callie Torres who almost lost hers and mark sloans baby due to a car accident. Speaking of mark, his daughter well his other daughter Sloan Riley’s baby had bands of amniotic tissue around its legs and many other characters, well almost every character who was pregnant had some kind of complication.

Let’s talk about some weddings shall we ? Up first we have Christina’s and Burke’s wedding, Christina and bruke fell in love and decided to get married pretty quickly, Christina had to deal with his mother, which includes shaving her eye brows off, only for him to leave her at the altar. April and Mathews wedding, after episodes of April and Mathew flirting with and falling for each other; Mathew finally proposes April. April plans her dream wedding and everything goes on well until Jackson confesses his love for April in the middle of the wedding, persuading April to leave Mathew at the altar. I mean couldnt he have done it before the wedding ? Or that time when April asked Jackson to give her a reason to not marry Mathew ? But yes we get it, to make things dramatic he has to confess during the wedding.

Meredith and Derek literally wrote their vows on a post-it note and ofcourse all this, just to make the show dramatic and long.

3. Characters disappearing

Greys anatomy has a thing for vanishing off characters, let’s talk about Christina. We all know she left for Switzerland and built her own life there, but what about her life in Seattle? What about her person ? No doubt Meredith has been through a lot and Christina never showed, except for Dereks funeral? Other than that,what about all the times she was attacked, or when she gave birth to Ellis. Christina and Meredith had the greatest friendship in the series, yet she wasn’t there when Meredith needed her. Meredith is now diagnosed with a deadly virus and yet she isn’t here, and neither is Alex who left the last season to live with his wife? Ex wife ? Lover ? Mother of his children ? Yes, let’s stick with that. He left Jo to live his children and the mother of his children who also disappeared out of nowhere without any notice. Alex was always there for her before and after the cancer, while she cheated on him with her ghost hallucinated ex. Not only did she leave Alex but also had his child, and did not once think of mentioning it to him. (This show is a lot of things and weird is definitely one of them)

Callie Torres left after spending time with perfect penny for a few episodes, and tries to take to Sofia with her and away from Arizona but fails. Later on Arizona leaves too, with Sofia.

And so on...

Leaving is fine, but not looking back ? Not caring about the people they loved? About the people they spent their lives with ? Like when Derek died, and Addison WASNT in his funeral ? He was her high school sweetheart after all.

4. Pointless Tragedies and outcomes of the tragedies

There’s been a tons of tragedies in greys anatomy the first one being the train crash, I mean that’s not pointless right? Train crashes aren’t very rare, now let’s talk about the outcome.

Meredith who becomes attached to the Two passengers on the train Tom and Bonnie who have been skewered together by a metal pole ripping through their torsos (that’s totally possible right?)

Their story was emotional and upsetting making some of the fans Cry, but metal pole ripping through you? And you are still alive ? It’s just very unrealistic.

On number two we have the time when there a was bomb inside a patient ? A human patient. It was very pointless and straight up nonsense.

And then there’s the time when Richard Webber gets electrocuted and heather brooks tries to save him but instead she gets electrocuted as well and dies, the very same day where merediths goes into labor, not to forget that Jackson almost gets burnt alive. Yep, all this happened in one day. Oh wait did I forget to mention that a superstorm rolled into Seattle grace knocking out the power ? Oh yes, Meredith had to go through c section in the dark. And many other tragedies that were total nonsense and pointless.

5. How are they not arrested ?

Remember the time when Izzie cut dennys L-vad wire, to save him? To steal dr.Hahn’s patients heart? And all the other interns helped her cover up even if Christina was hesitant. Izzie wasn’t ready to lose Denny, Izzie selfishness caused the death of two men. Yet she wasn’t arrested, or banned from being a doctor ? I mean they didn’t barely punished her.

Or the time when a bunch of interns performed surgery on themselves? They should have atleast been suspended, But they were all unpunished and unharmed. Alright maybe no unharmed since they have been hurting themselves.

Not Lexie stealing things from the hospital to make hers and George’s new apartment more home-y. It was pretty funny, lexies dorky adorable character was one of the reason why fans adored her so much but all jokes aside, did the staff not notice the things that were missing? Or did they not see her in cameras ?

Last but not least, Miranda Bailey performs surgery on an underage child without the child’s parents’ consent..

Well folks, there it is. Greys anatomy can be very unreasonable at times but apart from all that, this show shows love like no other show. Shonda rhimes can protray friendships, the relationships (with huge age gaps I assume?) beautifully, the love Meredith and Alex shares, or the underrated friendship between April and Arizona, the beautiful relation of Alex and Arizona, the way Lexie loves mark. All kinds of love are beautifully portrayed in this series, I will give shonda that. It’s undeniable how many times they made me feel so alone.

Every show has its flaws it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad show, but please shonda cut down the amount of miscarriages and tragedies, we get it you want this series to have over a hundred seasons. If you really want this tv show to continue, Why don’t you give us Zola’s back story, or Sofia’s life in New York, even Maggie’s, Lexie’s and Meredith’s childhood. Not just merediths mom but also her father, her school, and everything.

Greys anatomy is a good show, it sometimes shows real life struggles like racism, sexism, homophobia and whatnot. Apart from these flaws I would personally rate this show a 5.8.
