Top 10 Battle From Precure - Part 1

Given that Precure is a magical girl anime franchise that sees heroine using magical powers to transform and fight the forces of evil, it is safe to say it is a franchise with many powerful punching and strong striking battle for audiences to enjoy. With over 800 episodes and and dozens of movies, it is safe to say there have been some spectacular fights for audiences to enjoy. So, we are going to look at the first 5 in our top 10 of the best battles in Precure and what made them stand out. These battle will be restricted to a single Cure in the battle or taking the primary stance in the battle, and we will also be looking at the battle from the movies, not just from the anime series. Group battles will be covered in a later instalment.

10. Cure Scarlet vs Dyspiar

• Series: Go! Princess Precure
• Episode: #22 - "The Fire of Hope! Her Name is Cure Scarlet!!"

Now this battle may not be the longest in this list, but it has made the list due to the acceptance seen by Towa. Having been kidnapped and brainwashed by Dyspiar as a child, she had to embrace the things she did for evil as Dyspiar’s daughter, Twilight. But this acceptance and embrace allowed her to use the fourth set of dress-up keys and become Cure Scarlet. As the first official princess on the Go! Princess Precure Team, her battle is actually like an elegant ballet dance as she twists and spirals to defeat Dyspair hordes. Now with her new conviction and power she shows Dyspiar that she will now fight against her as a Precure. It makes the list as it gives us a battle where your heart feels as warm as Cure Scarlet’s flames as she now embraces her new life free from Dyspiar mind control.

09. Cure Aqua vs Hadenya

• Series: Yes! Precure 5
• Episode: #34 - "Protect Milk! Karen, the Knight on the White Horse"

Cure Aqua was the first mature and dignified blue cure in the franchise. With that you knew the creators would give this girl a battle to stand out during her seasons. This came when Hadenya attacked her while she was alone and caring for the sickly Milk. The battle is pretty intense and is a rarity, as it is primarily only Cure Aqua involved in the battle. With some savage attacks thrown at Cure Aqua she fell in the battle. She was saved when the rest of her team arrived. But, they are taken out of the fight quickly. This however gave Cure Aqua the opportunity to truly impressed viewers, as she climbed her white stead, summoned her sword and gave fans their first medieval style horse ridden battle. Through her sheer determination, she succeeds it disarming Hadenya and destroyed the monster using her attack. For us, the entire battle sequence is really unique in the franchise, and let’s all admit it, a knight on a white stead heading into battle is awesome in any fashion.

08. Cure Fortune vs Phantom

• Series: Happinesscharge Precure!
• Episode: #22 - "A New Transformation!? Fortune's Great Wish!"

This was a battle that was evitable, as Cure Fortune’s entire purpose as a Precure was to defeat Phantom. Why? Because he had defeated and imprisoned hundreds of Precure, including her older sister. But what made this battle standout, was the expectation that Cure Fortune was set to be defeated. Her over confidence and arrogance were traits not commonly seen in Precure. This resulted in her transformation items destroyed and then she was nearly killed by Phantom. Of course, this being Precure and Iona being one of the main characters, all was set to be safe as Cure Princess arrived and rescued her. But it was Cure Princess’s gift that opened Iona’s eyes and allowed her to wish for more power and earned her a new transformation item. This took the fight now to the next level, and a repowered Cure Fortune vs Phantom round 2 was on. With the defeat and then life lessons learned by Iona in this battle, it acts as a shining moment within her series and for us makes it one of the best battle we have seen in the franchise.

07. Cure Marine vs Kumojacky

• Series: Heartcatch Precure!
• Episode: #46 - "Kumojacky! Cobraja! We'll Never Forget You!!"

Cure Marine is easily the cockiest Precure ever seen, and hopefully she'll retain that title forever. But when her series entered it’s final battle, Cure Marine proved her cocky demeanour was well deserved. In her final battle against Kumojacky, Cure Marine showed how much she had matured and how she knew when to take things seriously. Without hesitation, she lands the first hit against Kumojacki and this starts perhaps one of the strongest fist for fist fights the franchise has seen. However, she really amps up her power levels when Kumojacki insults her partner. This is perhaps a personal attack for Cure Marine, as her fairy partner is someone she has had a love/hate relationship with. But this bond is akin to a big sister and a younger brother, he is hers alone to annoy and make fun off, anyone else she will destroy. Calling on all her power she lets out her attack and purifies Kumojacki. Giving us a powerful battle where you sometimes feel the impacts of her punches and kicks.

06. Cure Peach vs Eas

• Series: Fresh Pretty Cure!
• Episode: #23 - "Eas' Last Stand! Cure Passion is Born!!"

This was a fight that marked a first in Precure history. After discovering that Eas was part of Labyrinth, it caused Cure Peach to question the friendship they had developed. This led to their final confrontation and the pair exchanged their feelings through their fists. Each blow led to a new revelation that while Eas was working for the bad guys, her emotions and feelings towards Cure Peach were real. But coming from a world where your entire life is written and you have 0 freewill or choice, meant Eas had to follow orders. But even more tragically, what allowed Eas to be honest with Cure Peach was knowing her life was going to end on that day. As their battle ended and they confirmed their friendship, Eas’s life came to an end and she fell to the floor dead. But, this allowed the Red Linkren to bond with Eas and she was reborn as Setsuna, and for the first time in the franchise a villain became a Precure. This battle had to make our list, how could it not. It was a landmark in the franchise, and the emotions and feelings of all the character still resonates today, giving it a longevity we cannot see going away any time soon.
