Where there is a storm, there is thunder.

🎶 She’s got a smile and it seems to me, reminds me of childhood memories where everything was as fresh as a bright blue sky 🎶

The sound of those lyrics brought out the little child in me when I first saw the first teaser trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder.

All Marvelites rejoiced highly when we were given our first look at the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder. We heard all the talk and speculation about what was going to take place in the film and when it was coming out and now we have been given our first trailer. I have to say when I saw the first few seconds of the trailer I had to pause it because I couldn’t contain myself at the sound of “Sweet Child Of Mine” from Guns N Roses. That song is one of my favorite songs ever and Guns N Roses is one of my all time favorite bands. At this sound I instantly knew that the new Marvel release was going to be continuing the classic rock tone setting theme of the previous solo Thor film, Ragnarok. Fans couldn’t get enough of “The Immigrant Song” from Led Zeppelin after the third entry and I’m sure we will say the same of “Sweet Child Of Mine” following the future release of the fourth solo Thor entry.

It will not be hard for even the most basic film fan to understand why the anticipation for Love and Thunder is so high. The mighty Thor is of course one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most beloved characters, in the past 11 years we have watched him go from a demigod who was destined for greatness that was humbled by his experiences and love for humanity, to a mighty avenger who lost so many people he loved throughout the universe, to a broken superpower of a man and now a wayward hero trying to find himself in the universe. The development and transformation of Thor has been perhaps the most complex of any MCU character and fans are impatiently waiting for more. The last three MCU entries featuring Thor chronicled his journey from sudden leader and savior of his people, to vengeful hero adamant to avenge their destruction and eventual broken man who lost everything and now needs to have his absent flare for being a mighty warrior reignited. In light of the events of the fourth Avengers film, that fire has been reignited and has now led us to the impending journey known as Love and Thunder.

While Love and Thunder will take us on a voyage to see how the mighty Thor will reinvent himself in a new chapter of heroism, Love and Thunder will also construct a full circle reunion between some of the earliest acquaintances of Thor who we were first introduced to upon his MCU debut like earthly love interest Jane Foster and most recently forged relationships including the rocky funny alien known as Korg and his fellow alien companion Miek and of course fellow MCU front runners, The Guardians of the Galaxy.

When Thor first arrived in the MCU he was given a love interest known as the famous Jane Foster. After making a very likable impression in the first two solo Thor entries Jane wasn’t seen again, leaving many fans to wonder if she would return and in the new Love and Thunder trailer Jane is seen as the new wielder of Thor’s famous Mjolnir hammer which has now been reconstructed. Fans were also treated to a few glimpses of the rocky comic relief known as Korg along with Miek, both of which survived the events of Ragnarok and became citizens of Asgard and close friends of Thor. Of course no one will forget the buddy comedy dynamic of an impression that was made when Thor teamed up with the Guardians of the Galaxy in Infinity War and Endgame, leaving fans with laughter filled anticipation for more.

Thor: Love and Thunder is definitely gearing up to be a Marvel classic for the books and with its clash of the titans of Thor’s personal life for the journey of his future highly anticipated story in place, theaters will definitely be packed for this upcoming MCU love and thunderstorms.
