There are additional suspects to consider who may have shot EJ on Days of Our Lives

The list of suspects grows

The latest attempted murder mystery on Days of Our Lives has fans and spoilers working overtime to figure out who did it. There are many theories, including that the victim may have shot himself. Viewers should consier that the Peacock soap may be giving red herrings when it comes to who shot EJ Dimera (Dan Feuerriegel).

The spotlight has been on a few Salem residents, but this could be a smokescreen. Gabi Dimera (Cherrie Jimenez), who was shown lurking outside the Dimera mansion the night of the shooting, has been acting suspiciously. Not only does JJ Devereax suspect her, but Leo Stark now has her in his sight.

Gabi attempted to point the finger at Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), who has skipped Salem and is currently unaccounted for. Leo pointed out that it makes no sense for Ava to go after EJ rather than Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduck) and Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle). Rachel kept Ms. Vitali hostage, and Kristen covered up for her mother. Both women are suspects, according to viewers, but there is no evidence, and Rachel has also disappeared.

Things may not be as they appear

On Wednesday, it was revealed that EJ has a tape of Johnny Dimera (Carson Boatman) inside the family home with a gun but he was not show pulling the trigger. The emphasis on Gabi and Johnny and their possible guilt could be a smokescreen.

Susan Banks (Haiduk) told Elvis that her grandson was hiding a secret, but that does not indicate he pulled the trigger on his dad. If she sticks around Salem she might figure this mystery out. Fans know, however, that EJ will go to great lengths to protect his son.

Additional suspects on the radar

Perhaps fans should cross Johnny, Ava, and Gabi off the list for now and consider who may have been the culprit. If neither of these individuals is the shooter, then who else could be a suspect?

Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gerig) is furious that EJ replaced him with his doppelganger. Both Rafe and Jada Hunter (Elia Kantu) are distraught that this man's actions ruined their lives and led to their breakup without getting married. This does not indicate that either of them would attempt murder.

Possible but least likely suspect

Days of Our Lives could allow fans to try to figure out who had the strongest motive, and the shooter could turn out to be someone unexpected. Could Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) have shot her ex and then gone to visit him in the hospital?

Spoilers tease that Rita Lesley (Maggie Carney) will soon return as the beloved Dimera family assistant. Will she help take the heat off Johnny or couold she be hiding the fact that she turned on her employer and tried to kill him?

One possible suspect who has not been shown is Rachel Black (Alice Halsey). Spoilers tease that she may have shot her uncle accidentally and that her mother will take the fall to save her. Being the demon seed that she is, little Rachel might have shot EJ on purpose. After all, she followed her namesake's plan to kidnap Ava.

There are additional theories

The only thing Susan picked up on Belle Black (Martha Madison), was that the lawyer loved her son. Could Bell have shot EJ and now is professing her loyaty out of guilt?

What if Amy Choi ( Shi Ne Nielson) went off the rails and shot Dimera so that he would be out of the picture when Johnny and Chanel Dimera (Raven Bowens) could adopt her granchild? Could Chanel have shot her father-in-law?

Days of Our Lives fans should pay close attention in the coming weeks for clues. No one is in Salem is above reproach and the shooter might be someone who is not on the radar.
