The Young and the Restless: The future for Devon, Abby and Chance might change

The Young and the Restless writers disappointed fans

Fans of The Young and the Restless were not in agreement with the direction the writers were taking the show during the past year. Viewers were bracing for several outcomes after Dominic Chancellor (Rain and River Ware) was born but none of them came to pass. Spoilers began predicting the outcome for Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), Abby Newman Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Mariah Copeland (Cameron Grimes) and no one saw the situation coming that is now at hand.

It was believed that Mariah would spin out of control, kidnap her Bowie and end up in a mental health facility. She is now happily married to Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbank) and is no longer obsessing over the son she gave birth to. Some Y&R fans thought in a twist of fate that Mariah and Devon would fall in love again and raise their son together. Spoilers also reported that Chance would be declared dead and Abby and Devon would co-parent the little boy.

Chance was found alive and when he returned to Genoa City his mental health was questioned. This led some fans to believe and spoilers to suggest he would walk away from his wife and adopted son. At one point it appeared Devon would file for sole custody but at this point, he has come to an agreement with "Chabby" and the three are working together to raise Dominic. Unlike Mariah, who is otherwise detained Devon remains in the picture so Chance and Abby are not raising their son alone.

Amanda's pregnancy would shift the storyline

Last week on The Young and the Restless Chance caught Abby and Devon in a close moment but nothing came of it. Chance has got to feel awkward because his wife and his son’s bio dad have a strong connection. They were close before the surrogacy storyline and together they helped Mariah bring Domninc into the world. Devon was there when Chance was deep undercover so this situation is complicated.

Y&R viewers are thankful that Mariah was eased out of the situation and now perhaps a way of escape has been made for Devon. Spoilers are teasing that Amanda Sinclair Michelle Morgan) might be pregnant. This comes from a source who indicates that Amanda will be dealing with a situation but Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) is not mentioned. The assumption is that this is an issue that involves Amanda alone. If what is being reported is true it will bring a much needed shift to the current storyline.

The possibilities on The Young and the Restless

The assumption is that whatever the issue is will probably not involve Naya Benedict’s (Ptosha Storey) health. This is leading to speculation that Amanda might find out she is expecting a baby. If she is carrying Devon’s child and gives birth this may be a way for him to focus on another son or daughter and step away from Chance, Abby, and Dom. Those who watch The Young and the Restless do not see anything positive coming from Dominic having three parental figures trying to raise him together.

Whatever the writers are planning it would be best for all concerned if Devon could move forward just as Mariah has. Keep in mind this is only a projection based on a statement made by a leaner and May or may not be true. Whether Amanda is pregnant or not fans agree there needs to be a shift in this storyline.
