The Young and the Restless: Fans want Jack to have a life

Many of those who watch The Young and the Restless are not impressed with the current storyline involving Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). The revelation that Jack’s son died and that he has an adult granddaughter is not what fans believe is a worthy storyline for the soap vet. On social media, Y&R viewers are saying that Bergman deserves to be front and center like Victor Neman (Eric Braeden).

Victor is still trying to run the lives of his children and his Newman empire continues to be a major part of the CBS soap. The Abbott dynasty, Jabot Cosmetics is never even mentioned and fans wonder who is involved in the day-to-day operations of the Genoa City business? Adam Newman, (Mark Grossman), Victoria Newman (Melia Heinle). and Nick Newman, (Josh Morrow) are a big part of their father's life but Jack has no children around.

Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) are only on the show once in a while and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Theo Vanderway ( Tyler Johnson) are working abroad. Jack literally has no strong ties in Genoa City except his friendship with Phyllis Summers. Fans are not excited about Jack's grandaughter Allie Nguyen? Volien? ( Kelsey Wang) possibly coming to Genoa City.

The Young and the Restless fans don’t believe Allie will make a difference

Spoilers are suggesting Allie would be a good match for Noah Newman (Robert Gibson) and bring the Newman and Abbott families together but Kyle and Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) marriage already did that. Some spoilers say the heads of the two most prominent Genoa City families need to become rivals again but viewers do not agree. Victor and Jack are older now and getting along so it would not be realistic to start a Newman/Abbott war again.

It’s not even known for certain if Allie will end up in Genoa City and for now she’s puzzled to find she has a grandfather. She says she is not the one who lured Jack to California so there is a mystery to be solved. Once Jack finds out who has been sending him the text messages snd what the motive is, he and Phyllis will be returning home with or without his granddaughter and Y&R fans are concerned about what comes next for Jack. If Allie does travel to the East Coast and if she begins dating Noah it will not fill the void in her grandfather’s life.

Jack and Phyllis are no longer interesting

Some who watch the CBS soap are saying that Jack and Phyllis seem more like good friends now and the romantic spark is gone. Viewers desire to see the Abbott Patriarch find a new love and have a real romantic life again. The trouble is that there is no one currently in Genoa City who is a match.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor are solid and things did not work out with Sally Spectra Courtney Hope). Some fans thought that Gloria Bardwell (Judith Chapman) would go back to working at Jabot and perhaps she and her former stepson would hook-up again but Gloria is not currently in the picture.

Unless the Y&R writers come up with something soon, Jack may find that he remains on the sidelines. When Eva Longoria showed up as the mother of the Rosales clan spoilers said she and Jack would date but she did not remain in Genoa City. After Kristina Alfonso left Days of Our Lives it was rumored that she was in negotiations with The Young and the Restless but nothing came of it. Be on the lookout for updates regarding what comes next for Peter Bremen’s character. Hopefully, something substantial will come his way soon.
